Smile Foundation has joined hands with Children’s Film Society of India (CFSI) to screen value-based films for school children across India. 10 films have been handpicked for the festival, each highlighting a different value – ranging from friendship and family bonding, to animal love and cultural harmony.
Students from Greenlawn School in Goa celebrated Children’s Day by watching some of the movies. The screening was inaugurated by Mrs. Kulkarni, who was also the chief guest for the occassion. Teachers and Principal Mrs. Aurea Noronha also watched the movies along with the children.
The children eagerly await the rest of the films, which have been scheduled over the next few weeks.
The film screening is an effort towards making our children aware and sensitized about vital social issues, and inculcate in them strong values that they can uphold throughout their lives, growing up to be responsible citizens and change makers. Smile Foundation visits various privileged schools across India and conducts engaging sessions for the young minds, under its Child for Child programme.
