Smile Foundation for woman’s security and dignity
March 31, 2012
Smile Foundation organised a sensitizing campaign Suraksha and Swabhiman (Security and Dignity) at Jantar Mantar, as an effort to sensitize male members of the society and to ensure their participation for making the society safer and friendlier for the women.
In past some days the rate of women harassment and abusing has worryingly increased and serious concerns have been raised about the increasing instances that compromise woman’s security and dignity.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. H.N. Sahay- Director Smile Foundation stated, “When we talk about safety and dignity of women, we cannot ignore the roles of the male members in our society. They are brothers, neighbors, co-workers, strangers, and this is just about any men. If our men are sensitized and play their role wherever they are, we can make our society a better place for women.”
In order to intensify the issue and find a proactive solution in the form of sensitizing and involving men, Smile Foundation conducted the campaign named Suraksha and Swabhiman(Security and Dignity) A few young boys and girls came together symbolically to show the way towards making a safer and better place for women.
