Smile Foundation has been felicitated among the 10 best Non Government Organisations by MUKTI FOUNDATION.
Ms. Smita Thackeray, Chairperson of Mukti Foundation, said on the occasion of honouring Smile and nine other organisations, “The journey in social work has been very rewarding and gratifying. As the Mukti Foundation completes its 10th year in service, we would like to felicitate 10 best NGOs with excellence in their respective fields across India.”
Around 100 children from Smile’s projects in Mumbai represented Smile Foundation during the felicitation ceremony held in Mumbai.
Mukti Foundation had followed a rigorous process in scrutinizing and selecting 10 best NGOs working for different causes ‘who have done substantial social work in the society’ across India. Smile Foundation was selected for its outstanding contribution towards development of underprivileged children across India.
On the occasion, ’10 on 10′- a musical concert was organized at MMRDA grounds BKC in Mumbai, featuring 10 artists comprising of film and television stars, singers, musicians and bands. Part of the proceeds from the concert was also dedicated to the child welfare projects of Smile Foundation.
“We hereby proudly announce that you are one of the organizations who has been chosen for felicitation at the Mukti 10 on 10 Concert,” says Ms. Thackeray while selecting Smile Foundation among the 10 Indian NGOs of excellence.
Sudesh Bhonsale, renowned singer and entertainer, and Sameera Reddy, Bollywood actress, performed at the concert among others and also encouraged the children.
Mukti Foundation was established in 1997 with the prime objective to deal with the social issue like Child Welfare, Women Development, Drug Abuse, HIV/AIDS etc.
Smile appreciates Mukti Foundation’s effort in encouraging good practices in the non government sector.
