Static Clinic and Smile on Wheels van supported by HDB Financial Services to provide quality healthcare

HDB is supporting Smile Foundation in setting up a clinic to provide physiotherapy as well as OPD services to the beneficiaries. The clinic will operate for 22 days every month. It will be located at Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, Delhi. It seeks to serve unreached and underserved populations, , primarily truck drivers.

The physiotherapy services are meant to meet the specialized health care needs of the truck drivers as they suffer from several health issues such as bone ailments, back pain, neck pain etc. The clinic will cater to up to 50 beneficiaries per day (physiotherapy and general check up).

As part of generating awareness on health related issues, IEC activities will also be conducted, including distribution of pamphlets, display of posters, wall writing and audio visual aids, etc. The activities will revolve around the health needs of the truckers’ community.

We are also working together on increasing access to primary healthcare at doorstep through Smile on Wheels in Thirvallur District , Tamil Nadu.

The proposed locations for the mobile medical unit are Thiruvallur, Kakalur, Uthukottai, and Thiruninravur in Thiruvallur district and Sriperumbudur in Kanchipuram district in Tamil Nadu.
