In 2017, Deutsche Bank AG partnered with Smile Foundation to initiate the Smile on Wheels project, aimed at delivering healthcare services to underprivileged communities. This collaborative effort targeted five locations, namely Surat, Ahmedabad, Ludhiana, Kolkata, and Mumbai, ensuring that healthcare reaches the doorsteps of families residing in slums within these cities. The project involved a dedicated team comprising qualified doctors, nurses, pharmacists, drivers, and volunteers. To date, the initiative has positively impacted approximately 580,000 beneficiaries and continues to provide support across all the designated locations.
Starting from July 2020, the Smile on Wheels project expanded its reach to different locations. Presently, the program extends its benefits to Kalyan, Jaipur, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Pune.
Moreover, Deutsche Bank AG collaborated with Smile Foundation to empower underprivileged girls in the field of engineering through a comprehensive scholarship program. This initiative was introduced in the academic year 2022-23 and offered full scholarships to 225 girls selected through Smile Foundation’s rigorous selection process. The scholarships covered the entire duration of their four-year engineering courses. In the academic year 2023-2024, an additional 100 girls will receive support, bringing the total number of girls in the scholarship program to 325. The selected girls hail from engineering colleges located in Jaipur, Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru.
