Smile Foundation’s Swabhiman programme, in partnership with Children’s International Foundation (CIF), is addressing critical health, nutrition, education, and skill development needs for children and caregivers. This initiative impacts over 5,000 children and 2,500 caregivers, providing a comprehensive approach to improving well-being and future opportunities.
The health and nutrition component focuses on the early detection of anaemia and malnutrition among children and their caregivers, ensuring timely interventions to address these challenges. The project will improve the overall health outcomes for young children, while also increasing awareness around menstrual health for adolescent girls, empowering them with the knowledge to make informed decisions.
The education programme targets children aged 7 to 15, providing access to quality learning resources through community libraries. To cultivate a deeper interest in science and technology among children, the programme introduces hands-on learning with DIY science kits, demonstrating how these subjects impact daily life. This approach enhances learning and helps children connect with global knowledge and skills.
For youth aged 16 to 18, the initiative provides skill development training, aimed at improving employability and preparing them for the workforce. By equipping young people with practical skills, the programme opens doors to future economic opportunities, laying the foundation for sustainable livelihoods.
Through this partnership, Smile Foundation and CIF are addressing challenges in health, education, and employment, creating a scalable model that can be adapted to different regions, ensuring that children and communities have the resources and support they need to thrive.
