It a special Friday for the students of Holy Mother School in suburban Mumbai, who got to meet their screen idol Priyanka Chopra on the occasion of International Girl Child Day.
The star was welcomed with pomp as students jostled to catch a glimpse of the actor.
“I love children. I feel that they are the closest to god. Thank you for inspiring me to turn mediocre into special,” Priyanka said at the event.

For the occasion, Priyanka chose to go floral and formal. She was dressed in a floral print blazer, though her skin-fitting top seemed a tad too revealing for the girl child cause.The actor has been promoting the importance of educating girls through several NGOs, campaigns and associations.
All the students of Holy Mother School were enthused to meet the star and welcomed her with a decorated white board that read: “We welcome Priyanka Chopra on International Girl Child Day”.
Priyanka spent a lot of time interacting with the students and also entertaining them.
She presented an impromptu act based on her character in Barfi! and spoke of the importance of educating girls.
She revealed to the students that her father used to call her Mini, lovingly.
Later, Priyanka happily posed with all the students of the school and emphasising the importance of education said: “Getting involved in the fieldwork and spreading the message is important.”
