Smile Foundation’s Child for Child programme was initiated in 2006 as an affirmative step in this direction. Smile Foundation strongly believes that unless the privileged society is involved proactively in the process of development, sustainable change will not happen. Children have the potential to be the best change agents, be it in their family or the community in which they live. But, unfortunately, in today’s world, indifference is fast taking over the natural empathetic tendencies of children. Hence, it has become very important to channel the energy and enthusiasm of children and youth into a positive direction, by imbibing a conscious perspective and constructive value system in them.
Under the Child For Child programme, Smile Foundation visits various schools and conducts engaging sessions for the young minds. It seeks to inculcate a conscience and value system in the children so that they grow up to become not only successful individuals, but also responsible citizens, good human beings and potential change makers in the future.
The Child for Child Programme has been designed to work at three levels:
Instilling core values through interactive sessions and engaging workshops that make learning meaningful
Fostering essential conversations with seminars and workshops that inspire impactful change in education
Raising awareness through webinars and communication tools to support informed and mindful parenting
More than 2,500 value education sessions were conducted in schools across India, aiming to instill ethical values and social awareness among students. These sessions sensitized children to critical societal issues while encouraging them to grow into responsible and compassionate citizens. To make learning engaging, inspiring stories of change-makers, pioneers, and national leaders were shared, emphasizing values like empathy, leadership, and community service, helping children shape a better future.
Along with this, workshops were conducted on career counsellling, health and well-being, Good Touch-Bad Touch, cyber security and adolescence behaviour for students across India.
Smile Int'l Film Festival for Children & Youth (SIFFCY) is a unique platform that brings children and youth together through cinema, allowing them to experience stories from around the world. This cultural exchange inspires and shapes young minds, grounding them in empathy and a spirit of togetherness. SIFFCY 2025 journeyed to 100+ locations across India after a week-long showcase in New Delhi, diving into a selection of films that highlighted important global themes and values.
Smile Foundation organises specialised workshops for teachers and educators, focusing on emotional well-being and its impact on student success. These interactive sessions equip teachers with strategies to enhance classroom engagement, improve student-teacher relationships, and create a positive school environment. Educators learn techniques for fostering resilience, managing stress, and using emotional intelligence to support students' academic and personal growth, ultimately helping to build a more nurturing and effective learning ecosystem.
During the year, more than 3,000 teachers were engaged through these workshops.
