MUMBAI: Smile Foundation aims to send 5000 underprivileged children to school by Independence Day through the initiative, Choone Do Aasman. Smile Foundation is a national level development organization that reaches out to children, youth and women across 25 states. Choone Do Aasman is an initiative of Smile Foundation and supported by NDTV with the objective of enabling children from difficult backgrounds to pursue their ambitions.
This event aims at addressing the issues related to the lives of underprivileged children though the power of education. The purpose of sending the children to school is to equip them with basic life skills to lead empowered lives as well as to sensitize their parents, which will be ensured by monitoring attendance and academic progress. The NGO has adopted other national educational programs such as Mission Education, Smile Twin e-Learning, Smile on Wheels, Swabhiman amongst several others.
