It was a day filled with joy as employees of Pepsico India and children from Smile Foundation participated in 'Build a Bike Challenge.' The employees got together for the cause of providing bicycles to children living in far-off locations from school by competing in a healthy competition against each other in building a bicycle from scratch. Engaging children in building the bikes was thrilling and educating for children, teaching them the importance and value of things.
Children from Smile Foundation’s Mission Education centres in Delhi got to meet their favourite sport icon Commonwealth bronze medalist in wrestling Pooja Gehlot. She truly inspired the children, and shared her experiences of living a life full of constraints and working hard to achieve her dreams despite the challenges. The children learnt and enjoyed a lot, interacting with the young achiever.
To change the world, all we need is each other! It was heartwarming to have employees from Wells Fargo joining children from Smile Foundation’s Mission Education centre in Bengaluru and participating in a Clay molding and Seed Ball making activity. Thank you Wells Fargo team for sharing your world with our children, for creating memorable moments, and spreading so many smiles.
As part of our efforts to spread awareness and sensitise the civil society towards the cause of education for children, particularly amidst the challenging post pandemic environment, Smile Foundation launched an anthem - #ShikshaNaRuke. The anthem was sung by the legendary Sonu Nigam, composed by Jazim Sharma, and was written by Saaveri Verma. The anthem got love and appreciation across the board, and garnered over 2 million views on Youtube alone.
Together we can create a world where happiness is real! Thank you Team IMCD Group India for volunteering with children from Smile Foundation’s Mission Education centre in Mumbai. In an engaging and well curated session, the employees shared their experiences with the children, enlightened them on various aspects of a healthy lifestyle focusing on nutrition, physical and mental health, as well as hygiene practices.
Blackrock Services India Ltd donated 7 bicycles through Smile Foundation’s ‘Build a Bike Challenge’ to a Mission Education Centre in Gurugram, Haryana. 26 employees participated in this activity, starting with an ice breaker with the children wherein employees played dog and the bone with children. Following this, the competition between the teams started to Build the fastest Bike. The kids were overwhelmed and enjoyed whole heartedly.
