Jharkhand Chief Minister flags off 5 Smile on Wheels

Smile Foundation, in collaboration with MSD Pharmaceutical, launched 5 Smile on Wheels mobile healthcare projects in Jharkhand, delivering free doorstep healthcare to more than 75,000 children and families in a year. Flagged off by the Chief Minister of Jharkhand Shri Hemant Soren, the initiative aims to improve access and quality of maternal and child healthcare facilities and strengthen public-private partnership in targeted remote areas in the West Singhbhum, Sahibganj, Chatra, Dumka, and Garhwa districts.

Enhancing learning experience through STEM education

The STEM programme at Mission Education Centre - Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya in Airoli, Navi Mumbai is sowing the seeds of change by promoting the virtues of collaborative learning and hands-on exploration. By doing so, it equips students with the invaluable skills of problem-solving, effective teamwork, and decision-making. Through such skills, these young minds can become the architects of their own success stories, driving innovation and fueling positive change within their communities and beyond.

Emotional Wellbeing session for teachers at Delhi School

Smile Foundation's Child For Child (CFC) initiative organized a session on Emotional Wellbeing at the Delhi International School in Dwarka, New Delhi. The session helped the participants release their stagnant emotions and achieve emotional healing. Mr. Amit Singh, Founder and CEO of Void Technique, introduced 26 teachers to the principles of Emotional Deletion Method, emphasizing the benefits of a positive mindset such as improved moods, stronger relationships, and reduced stress. The session will also help teachers translate their learning in the classroom.

'Rashtriya Poshan Maah' celebrations in Sangrur, Punjab

Smile Foundation and PepsiCo Foundation recently hosted ‘Grand Poshan Mah Celebration’ in Sangrur. The event was inaugurated with the opening of an Anganwadi Centre in Village Kakkarwal by the Chief Guest Mr. Jitendra Jorwal IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Sangrur. The celebration underscored Poshan Abhiyan's mission to combat malnutrition, targeting pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children under 6 years of age. Community resources including anaemia awareness brochure and low cost high nutrition recipe booklet were also unveiled.

Amazon delivers smiles to underserved youth in Hyderabad

The partnership of Smile Foundation with Amazon's Delivering Smiles Campaign is helping provide skill training for enhanced employability to over 280 underserved youth in Hyderabad, Telangana. With Amazon's digital devices, Smile Foundation is providing equitable access to crucial technology for maximizing the benefits of up-skilling for aspiring youth. The youth are being trained on healthcare and core employability under Smile Foundation’s skill development and livelihood programme STeP.

Awareness sessions on ‘Anaemia Mukt Bharat’ in Pune

Govt of India’s ‘Anaemia Mukt Bharat’ initiative aims to combat anaemia through comprehensive strategies and in its efforts to support this initiative and help take it to the bottom of the socio-economic pyramid, Smile Foundation's Smile on Wheels mobile healthcare programme organized informative sessions in Pune villages. In the awareness sessions, community members learned about anemia prevention, early warning signs, and treatment options. Free health check-ups and nutritional supplements were also provided.

Training community based organizations to sustain locally

Under its Empowering Grassroots initiative, Smile Foundation conducted a comprehensive workshop on Local Fundraising for seven grassroots organisations from across the country. The training covered a wide range of topics such as exploring different sources of income, donor identification & appreciation, effective communication, institutional fundraising, proposal writing, and creating organizational collaterals. The training provided an effective platform for the community based organizations to enhance their fundraising efforts locally.

First Aid Training for students of Tamil Nadu Govt school

Smile on Wheels mobile healthcare programme conducted Disaster and First Aid Training for 250 Government School Students in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu. Equipping young minds with essential life-saving skills, the session covered basic first-aid techniques and instilled confidence in handling emergencies. By understanding the role of timely support during critical situations, students learned to minimize the impact of injuries and foster faster recovery. Through such sessions Smile on Wheels aims to encourage a health seeking behavior in the next generation.

Shinnyo-en and Smile celebrate the journey of girl scholars

A delegation from Shinnyo-en Japan joined Smile Foundation in Delhi to celebrate the remarkable achievements of recipients of the scholarship, supported by Shinnyo-en. This enduring partnership with Shinnyo-en, dating back to 2007, has been instrumental in providing scholarships to underserved girls. Beyond financial support, these scholars also benefit from valuable life skills training, including Emotional Intelligence, Career Counseling, Self-Defense, and Adolescent Health education, all aimed at boosting their confidence, competence, and overall well-being.

Smile on Wheels in Assam to support healthcare for all goal

KONE Elevator India Private Limited has joined hands with Smile Foundation to roll out a new mobile healthcare project in Kamrup, Assam. The Smile on Wheels will deliver curative and preventive healthcare services in 12 remote villages, complementing the Government’s vision of quality healthcare for all in the district. The well-equipped mobile health unit with doctor, paramedics, point of care test facilities and free of cost medicines will provide doorstep primary healthcare services, with special focus on women ad children.

Championing maternal health & nutrition with Honda

Smile Foundation and Honda India Foundation celebrated 'Rashtriya Poshan Maah' to strengthen community health. The celebrations had an insightful session on Antenatal Care (ANC) focused on maternal health and its interplay with nutrition. A low-cost, high-nutrition recipe competition was also organized that challenged not only the notion that healthy eating is pricey but also demonstrated practical ways for families to integrate nutritious meals into their daily lives. The event promoted the belief that maintaining a healthy lifestyle is achievable for everyone.

Training for front line workers in Mewat, Haryana

In collaboration with the Health Department of Haryana, Smile Foundation's Smile on Wheels mobile healthcare programme organized two-day training for front line workers at CHC Punhana in the aspirational district of Mewat. During the training, 30 Front Line Workers participated actively and increased their awareness on various health-centric topics including newborn care, breastfeeding, Antenatal and Prenatal Care, Immunization, Government schemes, Nutrition, and precautions related to Malnutrition
