Smile Foundation’s initiative ‘She Can Fly’ is an effort to enable, equip and empower girl children with quality education, proper nutrition, good health, adequate skills, and above all a lot of self-confidence to help them live their lives to their fullest potential.
This is also a step towards sensitizing the civil society at large and helping create a girl child friendly society to help her thrive.
HEALTHCARE
While the health statistics of rural India continue to be poor, the health status and access to health for the poor in urban slum dwellers has surfaced to be equally deplorable and have less than 4% of government primary healthcare facilities.
The Smile on Wheels programme has so far provided free healthcare services to more than 10 lakh children and families.
ABOUT SMILE FOUNDATION
Smile Foundation is directly benefitting children and their families from poor economic and social background every year, through more than 250 live projects on four thematic areas of Education, Healthcare, and Empowerment of Women and Girls in over 950 remote villages and slums across 25 states of India.
Currently, 152 Mission Education Centers located across 20 states of India are directly benefiting over 23000 Underprivileged Children, living in urban slums and remote villages. So far, around 200,000 children have been benefitted through this programme.
Since 2006, the Foundation’s Healthcare Services reached over a million people across 900 urban slums and remote villages through Smile on Wheels and Specialized Health Camps
Since 2005, Smile Swabhimaan programme (Self Pride) has successfully made a difference to the lives of over 225,000 Underprivileged Women and Adolescent girls
