SUMMARY:Smile Foundation's Child for Child department's national campaign: "Students say….Let's Win the Fight over Corona"
DESCRIPTION:The nationwide CFC Campaign for inviting entries on the theme of ‘Let’s win this fight over Corona’ turned into a monumental success not just in terms of showcasing extraordinary artistic potential our children hold\, but also because it helped many of our young friends channelize their energies towards productive thinking during lockdown and keeping stress and anxieties at bay\, thus maintaining sound mental health. \nThe selection process was rigorous. All entries were first put through a plagiarization check and then a check for various specific parameters. Scoring was done and the shortlisted entries were shared with an external jury. The final result was declared on the 22nd of April’20. Prizes will be distributed after schools reopen whenever the lockdown is removed. \nWe would like to congratulate all the participants\, as every piece of art is special in its own way. \nThousands of entries\, hundreds of cutting-edge artists and a few were chosen out among the best of the best to be declared as winners! We extend our external judges a special note of thanks to Ms. Sangeeeta Kumar Murthy – Juror for Paintings & Cartoons: she is a practicing artist for the past 25 years and has been felicitated numerously for her contribution to Indian Art. She was one of the artists to be encouraged by the President of India and is a recipient of Kala Ratna Samman 2005. And Ms. Shivani Wazir Pasrich – Juror for Essays & Poems: She is currently Director of The Study School\, She is an extremely versatile actor\, storyteller\, theatre artist and a prominent emcee. She won Miss India World title in 1992 and has since donned many hats while also being associated with various social causes. \nThe Winners List is as follows- \n \nPlease also note that-\nThe result declared by the jury is final and is subject to no further deliberation.\nDigital certificates for all participants will be emailed to them within 15 days.

SUMMARY:Smile Foundation launches program to provide support to families affected by lockdown
DESCRIPTION:With the economic distress and ongoing lockdown\, Smile Foundation is distributing free ration to the underprivileged society and also providing tele-consulting and tele-counseling. Through these sessions\, the foundation will be talking about how to prevent COVID-19 by practicing social distancing and maintaining the hygiene of self and surroundings. \nApproximately 40\,000 families (more than 2 lakh+ people) across 10 worst-hit states\, namely Delhi\, Haryana\, Uttar Pradesh\, Maharashtra\, Gujarat\, Karnataka\, Telangana\, Tamil Nadu\, West Bengal\, and Punjab will benefit in the first phase of ration and essential services distribution. \n“During the last 15 years we must have worked with more than 12 disasters and every time we have reached out to the ones in need. This is something far bigger than anything that has happened in the past\, and our strength that is community reach has become our weakness in this scenario as being physically present on the ground is challenging. We are constantly guiding and training our health teams to deliver primary health needs to the underserved community by way of Tele counseling. Safety for one and all is our priority.” said Santanu Mishra\, Co-Founder\, and Executive Trustee\, Smile Foundation. \nSmile Foundation has developed a two-pronged strategy and aims to reach 1\,50\,000 such families in phases by providing dry ration and basic necessity kit as part of immediate relief for a month in the current times arising out of COVID-19. The kits include rice\, dal\, salt\, oil\, sugar\, masks\, sanitary pads\, soap to name a few and other essentials. \nSmile Foundation has now started providing online medical assistance and teleconsultation across affected areas of the country thereby providing healthcare services at home digitally and increasing awareness towards social distancing and hygiene. \nPrior to the lockdown\, more than 180 healthcare professionals (including doctors\, paramedical staff\, community health workers) were on the field every day through Smile’s mobile unit “Smile on Wheels” to spread awareness about protection from COVID-19 to the most vulnerable population\, living in 1000 communities spread across 19 States.
