SUMMARY:International Women's Day Celebration\, "Project Save Gender" Held in Nagpur
DESCRIPTION:On the eve of International Women’s Day\, Celebrations were held in our local project at Nagpur\, “Project Save Gender” in Hardik Convent\, Omkar Nagar\, Nagpur. \nThe celebrations were graced by our National Director-CFC\, Ms Monica Mor\, Mr Mahesh Baxi-Chief Manager-CFC and Jitendra Deshmukh-RH-CFC-Central. \nDirector of the Mahila and Bal Sarankshan Sanstha\, Dr Mrs Vandana Benjamin was in the chair. \nThis project was initiated with the help of Smile Foundation\, in 2016. We awarded them one sewing machine and since then we have been supporting them by giving one sewing machine every year. Now the project has 27 machines since its foundation and more than 100 women have successfully completed a 3 months certified course of sewing. It has empowered more than 100 homemakers and girls\, to earn their livelihood by grooming their sewing skills. The project also designs and stitch clothes for the new born and these clothes are given to the poorest of the poor infants born in the nearby Government Medical College\, Nagpur. \nThe objective of the project is to empower the home makers and the slum dwellers from nearby the school and the said site of the project. \nAround 20 home makers who had developed their sewing skills through this centre participated in today’s event\, along with the students of the school. They all were felicitated by Ms Monica Mor. \nWe were all welcome by Dr Vandana Benjamin and she placed the mission of their foundation. \nThis project is the local initiative and intervention by the Central CFC team and developed through ISP.

SUMMARY:Smile Foundation's Child for Child department's national campaign: "Students say….Let's Win the Fight over Corona"
DESCRIPTION:The nationwide CFC Campaign for inviting entries on the theme of ‘Let’s win this fight over Corona’ turned into a monumental success not just in terms of showcasing extraordinary artistic potential our children hold\, but also because it helped many of our young friends channelize their energies towards productive thinking during lockdown and keeping stress and anxieties at bay\, thus maintaining sound mental health. \nThe selection process was rigorous. All entries were first put through a plagiarization check and then a check for various specific parameters. Scoring was done and the shortlisted entries were shared with an external jury. The final result was declared on the 22nd of April’20. Prizes will be distributed after schools reopen whenever the lockdown is removed. \nWe would like to congratulate all the participants\, as every piece of art is special in its own way. \nThousands of entries\, hundreds of cutting-edge artists and a few were chosen out among the best of the best to be declared as winners! We extend our external judges a special note of thanks to Ms. Sangeeeta Kumar Murthy – Juror for Paintings & Cartoons: she is a practicing artist for the past 25 years and has been felicitated numerously for her contribution to Indian Art.
