SUMMARY:Dental Awareness and Screening Camp conducted for school children
DESCRIPTION:A Dental Awareness and Screening Camp conducted was conducted by Child for Child programme in association with Indian Dental Association at a school in Goa. The children were checked for dental; cavities and other dental problems by a dentist who also spoke to the children about brushing their teeth twice a day\, avoiding too much sweets and practicing other good habits for proper oral hygiene. Toothbrushes and toothpastes were also distributed among the children. \nUnder the Child for Child programme\, Smile Foundation visits various schools and conducts engaging sessions for the young minds. It sensitizes children towards various causes and let them realize their privileged status and conducts health checkups regularly. \nCFC currently reaches out to nearly one million privileged children in 900 schools spread across 417 districts of India\, every year. In addition\, their parents and teachers are also involved in the process. The programme has today reached out to each part of India with the exception of Lakshadweep. \nSmile Foundation is an NGO in India directly benefitting over 600\,000 children and their families every year\, through more than 250 live welfare projects on education\, healthcare\, livelihood and women empowerment\, in over 950 remote villages and slums across 25 states of India.

SUMMARY:NDTV joins hands with Smile Foundation to launch Banega Swasth India campaign
DESCRIPTION:The first 45 days of motherhood is the most crucial time for both mother and the newborn. In order to promote the health and hygiene of mother and child in the most underserved\, remote and rural areas of the country\, Smile Foundation in partnership with NDTV and Dettol India\, launched the Banega Swasth India campaign. \nA complete kit designed especially for the health needs of a mother and a newborn\, was unveiled by Bollywood actor Mr. Amitabh Bachchan\, who gladly announced a donation of a 100 of these ‘Swasth Boxes’ to give a kick start to the campaign. The kit has been developed based on technical know-how and years of on-ground experience of working with less privileged and hard to access communities\, which will support the health and hygiene needs of the mother for 45 days\, a time extremely crucial for both the new mother and new born. \nTo spread awareness the ‘Swasth Box’ has a small booklet that covers topics of Lactational Amenorrhea and other family planning methods\, Colostrum feeding\, exclusive breastfeeding\, cord care\, hand washing technique\, danger signs for new born\, nutrition for mother. \nSmile Foundation is an NGO in India directly benefitting over 750\,000 children and their families every year\, through more than 350 live welfare projects on education\, healthcare\, livelihood and women empowerment\, in over 1000 remote villages and slums across 25 states of India.

DESCRIPTION:A students workshop session was conducted for school children under Smile Foundation’s Child for Child (CFC) programme at Maitri Vidya Niketan\, Bhilai in Chattisgarh. Over 200 children attended the early morning session on self-esteem. The children were taught how positive thinking\, practice\, training\, knowledge and talking to other people are all useful ways to help improve or boost your confidence levels to grow up as a successful as well as happy individual\, among other subjects. \nSmile Foundation visits various privileged schools across India and conducts engaging sessions for the young minds\, under CFC programme.
