SUMMARY:Movie screening for school children at Durgapur
DESCRIPTION:Smile International Film Festival’s initiative to take meaningful cinema to school across all parts of India is to sensitize children and youth through hand-picked quality films\, with assortment of various topics starting from gender equality to environment\, family values\, friendship\, aspirations\, dream\, self-confidence and importance of education from across the globe. \nThe festival reached a senior secondary school in Durgapur wherein meaningful movies\, beneficial to school children were screened. The children enjoyed the movies and appreciated the values imparted through the films and promised to inculcate them in their daily lives. \nSIFFCY (Smile International Film Festival for Children & Youth) is a special film platform devoted to a greater appreciation of meaningful cinemas made for children and youth which can bring change in the society by showcasing those films\, supporting emerging filmmakers\, recognizing the pioneers and leaders of the similar industry and by promoting the diverse perspectives of Good World Cinema. It caters to young people (aged 6 to 25) with just about every level of interest in film\, whether to watch and enjoy\, create their own work or take things a stage further and find out more about a career in the film or television industry.

SUMMARY:Child for Child conducts Dental Workshop in association with Indian Dental Association
DESCRIPTION:A dental hygiene workshop was conducted by Child for Child programme in association with Indian Dental Association at a school in Noida. The children were checked for dental; cavities and other dental problems by a dentist who also spoke to the children about brushing their teeth twice a day\, avoiding too much sweets and practicing other good habits for proper oral hygiene. \nUnder the Child for Child programme\, Smile Foundation visits various schools and conducts engaging sessions for the young minds. It sensitizes children towards various causes and let them realize their privileged status and conducts health checkups regularly. \nCFC currently reaches out to nearly one million privileged children in 900 schools spread across 417 districts of India\, every year. In addition\, their parents and teachers are also involved in the process. The programme has today reached out to each part of India with the exception of Lakshadweep. \nSmile Foundation is an NGO in India directly benefitting over 600\,000 children and their families every year\, through more than 250 live welfare projects on education\, healthcare\, livelihood and women empowerment\, in over 950 remote villages and slums across 25 states of India.

DESCRIPTION:Poor and underserved urban communities of Gurugram and Noida will benefit from the mobile health services through “Smile on Wheels” supported by IHS Markit\, a global leader in information\, analytics and solutions for major industries and markets. \nIHS Markit and the non-profit Smile Foundation have come together to cater to the health needs of at least a lac urban slum dwellers in the poor suburban pockets of Gurugram and Noida. \nThe Project called “Smile on Wheels” was launched on July 22 by the senior management of IHS Markit and Smile Foundation. As part of the initiative\, IHS Markit has provided a fully equipped medical van\, one of which will cater to select locations in suburban Gurugram and Noida. \nThese medical vans will provide regular health check-ups\, basic pathological tests and doctor consultation. As part of the mandate\, the doctors and paramedics also hold awareness sessions in the community to sensitize the locals on health and hygiene issues. \nThe Smile on Wheels programme has so far provided free healthcare services to more than 10 lakh children and families. \nSmile Foundation is an NGO in India directly benefitting over 750\,000 children and their families every year\, through more than 350 live welfare projects on education\, healthcare\, livelihood and women empowerment\, in over 1000 remote villages and slums across 25 states of India.

SUMMARY:Under-privileged children celebrate Friendship Day with privileged children
DESCRIPTION:In a Friendship Day event held at a school in Chandigarh 25 underprivileged children from a Mission Education centre visited a school for privileged children and interacted with them. Both the groups exchanged stories of their friends\, talked about the importance of the day and had a good session on why it is important to interact with friends from all walks and what they could learn from each other. The children also painted imprints of their hands on a poster symbolizing solidarity with one another. \nCFC currently reaches out to nearly one million privileged children in 900 schools spread across 417 districts of India\, every year. In addition\, their parents and teachers are also involved in the process.
