SUMMARY:Swabhiman activities benefits men\, women and the society
DESCRIPTION:Swabhiman project titled “Empowering Women and Adolescent Girls Through Reproductive Health Education and Services” in Surat Nagar phase 2 in Gurugram\, with the aim to empower women and girl by generating awareness and providing access to quality reproductive and sexual health care. In addition\, male involvement and their sensitization is an integral part. The focus beneficiary groups included adolescent (10-19 years)\, women in reproductive age (20-49 years) and men (20-49 years). \nThrough this project 16\,465 people reached extensively and sensitized on reproductive and sexual health. 403 contraceptives & 286 sanitary napkins were distributed to promote practice of family planning and hygiene. 1315 people received free health services through periodic health camps. 131 pregnant women and 119 lactating mothers were constantly guided for proper Ante Natal and Post Natal Care. 931 community members sensitized on reproductive and sexual health issues through BCC\, and there was celebration of important days & workshops were conducted by health experts. Approximately 1000 people availed free of cost health services through periodic health camps that imbibed a health seeking behavior among the community members.

Recent visits were conducted to various retail sectors for the students of Chennai\, Delhi\, Mumbai\, Kolkata\, Hyderabad and Pune centers and they were accompanied by their instructors A total of 25 exposure visits were conducted which helped the students gain a wide range of knowledge. The programme aims to provide an exposure to the students with learning opportunities on latest trends and practices at the workplace. \nSmile Twin E- learning Programme (STeP) is an initiative of Smile Foundation that aims at creating a pool of young and independent people\, from a section of underprivileged youth\, through skill enhancement in tandem with market requirements. SUMMARY:Dress distribution for school children in Nagpur
DESCRIPTION:A dress distribution event was conducted at a school for the school children at Nagpur on 15th July\, 2017. The drive was conducted under the Child for Child programme of Smile Foundation. Children often do not attend school because they do not own proper clothing as a result their learning process is hindered and they also fall short of attendance. To curb such problems the students of the school were provided with good clothes. \nUnder Child for Child programme\, Smile Foundation visits various schools and conducts engaging sessions for the young minds. It sensitizes children towards various causes and let them realize their privileged status. \nCFC currently reaches out to nearly one million privileged children in 900 schools spread across 417 districts of India\, every year. In addition\, their parents and teachers are also involved in the process. SUMMARY:Empowering Grassroots for Sustainable Change
DESCRIPTION:The final phase of the “Change the Game” capacity building workshop was conducted on the 21st of July 2017. 18 representatives from 11 community based organizations (CBOs) based in different corners of the country participated in the workshop\, that aimed at building their resource mobilization skills and organization capacities. \nSmile Foundation has been actively working towards strengthening the grassroots organizations to help them bring excellence in their approach\, methods and operations\, with the ultimate objective of achieving the maximum benefit for the under-served communities. Through the national level programme “Empowering Grassroots”\, Smile Foundation identifies and handholds CBOs and works towards enhancing their sustainability and scalability\, through both intensive trainings and extensive face-to-face meetings round the year. \nTaking these efforts further\, Smile Foundation has partnered with Wilde Ganzen (a Dutch development agency) to implement Change the Game\, an international e-learning platform for CBOs and grassroots NGOs\, in India. Using a blended learning approach\, the portal offers free e-learning courses and toolkits\, along with physical trainings\, to enable and empower organizations working for welfare of local communities across the world.

DESCRIPTION:Honor\, Huawei’s Smartphone e-brand for digital natives has partnered with Smile Foundation for the campaign She Can Fly\, as a part of Honor the Smile initiative. It supports the upliftment and empowerment of the girl child by educating them\, spreading awareness about the importance of education for girl child and sensitizing parents and family members about the advantages of education and empowerment for the girl child. \nAce designer Rina Dhaka\, as a part of the ‘Honor the Smile’ initiative collaborated with Smile and presented her collection for FDCI India Couture Week 2017 with Smile Foundation Ambassador Huma Qureshi as the show stopper. Her show also included little girls form a Mission Education centre of Smile Foundation who walked the ramp as a part of the awareness campaign. \nSmile Foundation’s initiative ‘She Can Fly’ is an effort to enable\, equip and empower girl children with quality education\, proper nutrition\, good health\, adequate skills\, and above all a lot of self-confidence to help them live their lives to their fullest potential. \nSmile Foundation is a national level development organisation directly benefitting over 400\,000 children and their families every year\, through more than 200 live welfare projects on education\, healthcare\, livelihood and women empowerment\, in over 950 remote villages and slums across 25 states of India.

SUMMARY:Ericsson employees and Smile Foundation children spend a fun filled day
DESCRIPTION:Employees from Ericsson spent a fun filled day with the children of Smile Foundation at a Mission Education center in Tamil Nadu as a part of their CSR activity. The children were super excited to interact and participate in the activities that were conducted. The event started with an ice breaking session between the employees and the children which was followed by performances by the children and gifts were presented to the children. 15 children from the centre participated in the event. Ericssion was represented by 8 employees. \nMission Education is a national level programme of Smile Foundation\, which is committed to providing basic education and healthcare to underprivileged children. Since its inception in 2002\, more than 200\,000 underprivileged children have directly benefitted from the Mission Education programme. \nSmile Foundation is a national level development organisation directly benefitting over 400\,000 children and their families every year\, through more than 200 live welfare projects on education\, healthcare\, livelihood and women empowerment\, in over 950 remote villages and slums across 25 states of India.
