DESCRIPTION:Ghanasingh Be True and Designer Archana Kochhar came together with Smile Foundation to celebrate Motherâ€™s Day in a special way. Krishaa and Gautam Ghanasingh of Ghanasingh Be True presented â€˜Odyssey of Pearlsâ€™\, while Archana Kochhar previewed her collection\, ‘Tintinnabulate’. What made the occasion truly special was that part proceeds from the event went towards supporting the cause of girl child education courtesy Smile Foundation. \nCelebrity mothers\, including Isha Koppikar Narang\, Urvashi Sharma\, Kavita Paudwal\, Bina Aziz\, Sangeeta Singh\, Sayeeda Kurlawala Jaffery\, Naina Kanodia\, Rashmi Uday Singh\, Rajyalaxmi Rao\, Rekha Chaudhary\, Dimple Nahar\, were present at the event. The ladies cut a special cake for Smile Foundation to celebrate Motherâ€™s Day and browsed as they shopped the outfits and stylish pearl collection by Ghanasingh Be True. \nSmile Foundation strongly believes that when mothers are supported and empowered\, the whole society benefits â€“ their families are healthier\, children go to school\, income levels improve and communities become more prosperous. Only when we educate our girl children today\, will they become aware and empowered mothers tomorrow. The Awards were presented by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) at the Hotel Le-Meridien\, New Delhi. \nASSOCHAM\, India’s Apex Commerce Chamber and Industry\, representing most of India’s largest corporations has been organizing the “Innovation Summit Cum Excellence Awards” for the last two years. The Summit\, an annual event on innovation aims to generate powerful insights\, practical tools and the chance to identify real-time solutions to real-world challenges. \nThe theme of the Summit this year was Innovative India@2020 and focused on developing innovation ecosystems that would make India an Innovation Powerhouse by 2020.

SUMMARY:Value Education session for students of Green View School
DESCRIPTION:Students and teachers at BVM School\, Jaipur\, Rajasthan were felicitated along with the Principal for their undaunted support to Smile Foundation. A value education session was also conducted in which students took part with great ardour. \nSmile Foundation visits various privileged schools across India and conducts engaging sessions for the young minds\, under CFC programme. SUMMARY:Ramp for Champs 8th edition at Orion Mall\, Bengaluru
DESCRIPTION:The 8th edition of Ramp for Champs\, Smile Foundation’s charity fashion initiative\, was organized in association with the iconic fashion choreographer Prasad Bidapa\, and Orion Mall. The event was part of the ongoing Orion Festival of Giving at the Orion Mall in Brigade Gateway\, Bengaluru. \nRamp for Champs is a unique concept wherein celebrities and achievers from different fields walk the ramp and raise support for the education of children. Children are the main highlight of the show as they share their aspirations and confidently match steps with the famous personalities. \nBollywood actor Isha Koppikar\, the showstopper of the event\, was joined by celebrities including former Miss Earth Nicole Faria; model and actor Sanjjanaa; Grammy Award winner Ricky Kej; cricket commentator Charu Sharma; telly actor Vijay Suriya and many others on the stage. \nA big thank you to all the personalities and partners who came together to make the initiative a success \nDuring the next one year\, the project will be directly benefitting more than 19\,500 people.

SUMMARY:Swabhiman organizes health camp at Muneshwaranagar
DESCRIPTION:A special health camp was organized for women\, adolescent girls and children at Muneshwaranagar in Bengaluru\, Karnataka\, under Smile Foundation’s Swabhiman programme. More than 100 women benefitted from the camp\, including expecting mothers for whom ante-natal check-ups and one-on-one counselling sessions were held. The health camp\, led by Dr. Shanthi from KSM medical centre\, and assisted by Swabhiman Health Volunteers (SHVs) and Community Health Educators (CHEs)\, provided preventive and curative health services as well as free medicines to the beneficiaries.
