SUMMARY:Free healthcare programme for the migrant construction workers enters its fourth year
DESCRIPTION:The specialized and free healthcare programme for the migrant construction workers has entered its fourth year. Began with support from Vatika Group\, the programme has so far benefited more than 12\,000 laborers and their families directly at the sites of their work. The beneficiaries include men and women workers\, their children and the accompanying elderly if any. This special program me has been operating successfully in Manesar and Sarai Khwaja (Faridabad) in Haryana now. Construction workers mostly neglect their own health and that of their family because either they are not aware or cannot afford treatment. Smile on Wheels makes their lives easier by providing them with health care time to time.

SUMMARY:Men Learn the importance of Women Empowerment
DESCRIPTION:Dedicated to the welfare of women and the girl child\, Smile Foundation’s Swabhiman programme a series of plays were organized across the slum clusters of Delhi to sensitize the communities on the role of men and boys in the empowerment of women and the girl child. Two plays were organized in Malviya Nagar and Dhaula Kuan\, with a focus on the vital issue of reproductive and child health. The people were not only made aware about the issue but also explained how a change in the behavioural attitude of the male members of family and community can help women and children have improved access to healthcare services. The audience was captivated and engaged throughout the play and they also got encouraging response to their questions. Volunteers from Sugandaya Natya Manch joined hands with the Swabhiman team in conducting the plays.
