SUMMARY:20 Health Camps in association with NSIC
DESCRIPTION:Twenty health camps were conducted by Smile Foundation in various parts of Delhi NCR in association with National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC). This initiative is part of an Integrated Community Development Project started by Smile Foundation and NSIC and was launched in December 2011. This project focuses at the holistic development of the underprivileged living in slums of Delhi NCR\, through education\, healthcare and women empowerment. \nThese health camps that were conducted provided curative\, preventive\, promotive and referral healthcare services to the people. OPD services for prevalent common ailments\, growth check-ups for children\, treatment for malnutrient cases\, dispensing of medicines for common ailments\, dental check-ups and eye check-ups were mainly the services that were made available in these camps. \nThey were conducted in 20 different slums across Delhi NCR\, namely – Rangpuri\, Tuglakabad\, Dhaula Kuan\, Mansarovar Park\, Rohini\, Sunder Nagri\, Sastri Nagar\, Jahangir Puri\, Kalyanvas\, Tilpath\, Majnu Ka Tila\, Gurgaon\, Motiya Khan\, Khori Kingsway Camp\, Jahank Puri\, Bhalaswa\, Tahirpur\, Wazirpur\, Nand Nagri and Faridabad. \nAll the health camps received overwhelming response from the people. As many as 5021 people were benefited. \nThe objective of conducting these health camps was to create awareness of general health among the people\, providing general health care services and counseling them\, on basic healthcare and hygiene. \nMajority of people were diagnosed with various common but seriously neglected problems such as diarrhea\, cholera and cataract in the eyes. There were also a few cases\, detected with major health problems; these cases were further referred to the referral hospital.

SUMMARY:Rakhi and Janmashtami celebration by Smile children
DESCRIPTION:Smile’s Mission Education centre in Noida\, supported by Samsung HOPE project\, organised a Rakhi making competition along with Shri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations. \nRakhi making competition was filled with lots of fun. Children; by using mirrors and small stones made beautiful Rakhi’s. Along with this the students celebrated Lord Krishna’s birthday with gaiety and splendour. The programme began with singing and dancing performances by students followed by a small play on Lord Krishna’s life. All the students were dressed in the traditional costumes of Lord Krishna and Radha. It was a great moment of togetherness and communal harmony and everybody enjoyed both the activities together.

He also said Eureka Forbes is super brand company . \n30 students from JSS were there to be part of the group session After selection in the interview the candidates will get Rs.4500 per month in hand plus incentive as per the sales. Mr. Melvin also explains the incentive structure while selling per then they will get Rs.100 per product and after that it depends on their performance. He also shared some past case studies of the Eureka employees. Few employees have also got the incentive in the term of Bike. Mr. Melvin also said that Eureka Forbes believes in 4 major step in the life that is Earn\, Learn\, Fun and Pride. Student asked others job profile in Eureka Forbes.Mr.Melvin said we have other job also but candidate should be graduate for the post of market activator. All students were happy and given good respond to Eureka Forbes employers .

DESCRIPTION:Smile Foundation in association with Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Vidyalaya\, Jaipur organised a special screening of Smile Foundation’s feature film I am Kalam in the school. The screening was conducted for three days for different class groups in order to sensitize all the children about social disparities and needs of underprivileged children. \nAltogether hundreds of children along with teachers & other staff of the school were sensitized towards the cause of education. All the staff members appreciated Smile Foundation’s efforts in sensitizing the children towards the cause. \nI Am Kalam is again an initiative by Smile Foundation in order to sensitize the privileged masses. I Am Kalam is the first ever feature film to be produced by a development organization.

DESCRIPTION:On 24th January\, 2012 at Vardhman Yarns\, Mandideep with the objective to show the functioning of the factory as well as to explore the job opportunity available there for them. Total 21 students (13 girls & 8 boys) took part in this visit Mr.Munish Jain\, Programme Officer & Mr.Avdhesh Patel\, MIS Officer\, FPAI-RTC along with Mr.Manoj Vishwakarma\, Computer Teacher\, Smile Programme accompanied the students in the visit. \nAt the factory premises Mr.Himanshu Tiwari\, Officer P& IR department explained & showed the Thread making process to the students. He briefed about each & every machinery which are being used to make the thread from the cotton. Students selected in this recruitment process and placed as a Trainee in the production unit. \nStudents learnt a lot through this exposure visit\, The girl students who got their placement in Vardhman group were very excited to join the company. They were saying “This opportunity will definitely change their future & they are feeling very proud to become a part of this renowned company”.

They will provide 15 days training to the candidates. After completing training candidates will get one day off in a week\, which will be rolling to different days.\nMs.Priyanka said after selection in the interview the candidates will get Rs.5800 per month and after deduction they will get Rs.5500 in hand. Girls High School\, Budharaja High School\, Lady Lewis Girls High School\, Hindi High School\, Rashtriya Gopal Vidya Mandir\, Nrusingha Guru Town High School\, Jagriti Vidya Mandir\, Saraswati Shishu Mandir\, Police High School\, Mungalal Saraswiti Shishu Mandir\, Manak Ram High School\, Udiyaman Martukshatra\, Dutika Sahu Girls High School\, come for the screening . With students many dignitaries also attended the special screening. Before the screening a press meet was also arranged. \nI am Kalam is a first feature film ever to be produced by a development organization to promote the cause of sending every child to school.

DESCRIPTION:On 25th January’12 Praramva Social Welfare Organization was organized an exposer visit for their 28 STEP students under batch no 2 & 3. The venue of the visit was AXIS Mall\, Pantaloons HR office Rajarhat-Kolkata. \nOBJECTIVE: \nTo understand the working environment and responsibilities in Pantaloons. To know how the company recruits the new staff\, duty schedule\, salary\, nature of job etc. During the visit students saw the Pantaloons outlet in AXIS Mall. Students observed the activities of the store keepers how they sell the products. They got an idea about the approaches of the sellers. \nIn the visit STEP students met with Mr. Kankan Bose\, Deputy Manager PANTALOONS\, People’s Office-East. During this visit Mr. Kankan Bose took a session for the STEP students. In his one hour discussion he explained the nature of job under Pantaloons\, salary structure\, and duty schedule of the staffs. He suggested that job training was important before facing the interview. He told that during the training session trainers would help them to understand the work.

Sahay\, Director Smile Foundation stated\,” It is our pleasure to be a part of IIM-B fest\, UNMAAD 2012 and seeing the proactive participation of the youth to support nation building. This clearly reflects that we as a nation do realize that grooming youth about positivity is what makes them positive individuals and better citizens of the country.” \nUnmaad is the flagship annual cultural festival of IIM Bangalore. Spanning a period of three days\, Unmaad draws participants from across India and features events like dramatics\, music performances\, dances\, quizzes\, debates\, street plays\, professional concerts and the grand Unmaad fashion show. \nThe Indian Institute of Management Bangalore\, IIMB) is a business school. It was established in 1973 by the Government of India\, and is the third Indian Institute of Management (IIM) to be established\, after IIM Calcutta and IIM Ahmedabad. It offers several Post Graduate and Doctoral programmes\, as well as a bouquet of Executive training programmes. IIM Bangalore awards only diplomas\, and not degrees.
