SUMMARY:Expanding Importance of Soft Skills
DESCRIPTION:Soft skills are personal attributes that enhance an individual’s interactions\, job performance and career prospects. They are behavioral competencies\, also known as Interpersonal Skills\, or people skills\, they include proficiencies such as communication skills\, conflict resolution and negotiation\, personal effectiveness\, creative problem solving\, strategic thinking\, team building\, influencing skills and selling skills \, keeping the same in mind \,Smile foundation conducted a three day Soft Skills workshop from2-4th May2011 at the head office for Smile-STeP `s soft skills instructors. This three day workshop ‘s objective was : To unleash the hidden potential\, overcoming the past conditioning and limiting belief\, developing a success formula\, inculcate leadership traits and success strategies\, enhancing confidence\, enthusiasm and strengthening human relationships. Developing an overall Winning Personality also to enable them for a positive change in their personalities. The Methodology was Interactive having Group Discussions\, Games & Simulations.

SUMMARY:Smile organizes Beauty and Health Management Workshop with VLCC
DESCRIPTION:Smile Foundation\, in association with VLCC\, organized a workshop on Beauty and Health Management on 6th May\, 2011 conducted by Silky\, Anita and Pamela\, professional trainers at VLCC. The workshop was exclusively organized for the Project Coordinators\, Community Health Educators and students under the Shinnyo-Smile Scholarship Programme. The workshop created awareness about personal grooming and provided tips to stay healthy. \nThe workshop made the participants acquainted about the fact that beautician and health management are emerging as new career options in the current scenario. The presenters talked about the significance of diet & nutrition to avoid dangerous diseases. They also informed the participants about VLCC’s internship programs and diploma courses. The presenters also emphasized on the importance of using herbal and Ayurvedic products to minimize the use of chemicals on the skin. \nVLCC is widely recognized for its scientific weight loss solutions and its therapeutic approach to beauty treatments. With a staff strength of nearly 6000\, over two-third of whom are experienced specialists including medical doctors\, nutritionists\, psychologists\, cosmetologists and physiotherapists and having served over 10 million customers since its inception\, VLCC is the largest and most-preferred brand in the Wellness domain in the countries it operates in.

SUMMARY:STEPPING STONE FOR SUCCESS FOR THE LESS PRIVELEDGED YOUTH
DESCRIPTION:A first-of-its-kind e-learning centre in Gujarat was launched in the city on Tuesday on 10 May 2011\, by Smile Foundation in association with Samsung Electronics as the sponsorship partner and Vadaj-based NGO Samvedana as its implementing partner. The Smile Twin e-learning Programme (STeP) is primarily designed to offer job-oriented skills to youth from the less privileged sections of society living in urban slums and peripheral rural areas. The employability programme has been designed to offer job oriented skills to the youth. This six month course aims to impart training in basic computers\, retail management skills along with proficiency in spoken and written English.

DESCRIPTION:Adash Seva Samiti in association with Smile Foundation organized a small session on personal development on 10 May2011at their center on confidence building to motivate the students for their future and shower a guiding light for the path they choose to lead\, the guest for the session were Mr.Kuldeep Solanki Retd Air Force General Officer along with Mr. Tanwar . \nMostly the session stressed on how to develop confidence and the correct approach towards life. Over all it was a fruitful\, interactive\, profitable\, and a gainful experience for the students.

Such visit for the students builds on the knowledge and confidence about the Project as well as breaking the inhibition of being into the shell of introvert. The Project mostly dealt with the working environment. The valuable visit made Mr. Nitin and Mrs. Nikita by has helped individuals learn new skills\, contribute their knowledge and experience\, gain self-esteem and self-confidence\, develop important new contacts\, and make a difference in their Life. It was an introduction session for the students focusing on their coordination and communication. Students were inspired by the professionals from such fields\, sharing their personal experiences as how they have grown big with their own hard work.

DESCRIPTION:On 30th May 2011 students of Gramin Vikas Trust\, Ratlam visited Vishal Mega Mart \, a multi branded mall \, to get a unique Uplift initiative in the field of knowledge and enabling youth to raise awareness about the retail sector . Mr Vivek Benerjee \,employee of Mega mart welcomed the students and were briefed on the process of Purchasing\, Billing and Maintenance of Store for sections such as e readymade garments \, footwear\, cosmetics\, electronics \, upholstery \, kitchen ware etc. It was over all an enriching experience.
