DESCRIPTION:In its 4th edition\, the CSR Health Impact Awards recognized Smile Foundation for its mobile health initiative “Smile on Wheels” across India. Currently\, the initiative reaches out to more than 900 urban slum and rural areas in 11 States. The award was received by Smile Foundation at the CSR Health Impact Awards 2019-20 held at New Delhi on June 27\, 2019. \nSpeaking about health as an important part of CSR funding it receives\, Santanu Mishra\, co-founder and executive trustee\, Smile Foundation said\, “Since our inception in 2006\, we have reached out to 55.19 Lakh beneficiaries. Currently\, Smile Foundation runs 38 mobile health clinics and plans to add at least 40 more in the next two years.” He added that\, “If healthcare needs of the poor are addressed\, we automatically off-load the poor of major expenses; thereby helping them allocate their resources to other critical needs like food and education.” \nExpressing happiness on receiving the award\, Satnam Singh\, General Manager\, health initiatives at Smile Foundation said: “Smile has been relentlessly serving the poor communities in diverse ways by simplifying health access problems to take healthcare literally at the doorstep of the underserved sections of the society. This award is recognition of our work done towards participating in solving India’s healthcare problems.”

DESCRIPTION:It was a day filled with joy as employees of Pepsico India and children from Smile Foundation participated in ‘Build a Bike Challenge.’ The employees got together for the cause of providing bicycles to children living in far-off locations from school by competing in a healthy competition against each other in building a bicycle from scratch. Engaging children in building the bikes was thrilling and educating for children\, teaching them the importance and value of things.

SUMMARY:Presenting 'Shiksha Na Ruke' Anthem by Sonu Nigam
DESCRIPTION:As part of our efforts to spread awareness and sensitise the civil society towards the cause of education for children\, particularly amidst the challenging post pandemic environment\, Smile Foundation launched an anthem – #ShikshaNaRuke. The anthem was sung by the legendary Sonu Nigam\, composed by Jazim Sharma\, and was written by Saaveri Verma. The anthem got love and appreciation across the board\, and garnered over 2 million views on Youtube alone.

DESCRIPTION:Committed to creating change at the grassroots by empowering individuals and nascent organizations\, Smile Foundation organized a two-day trainer refresher program for its Change the Game India pool of trainers. \nBuilt on Smile Foundation’s 20 years of extensive experience working with the grassroots in India\, Change the Game Academy brings Change the Game India program to strengthen the capabilities of social change makers and grassroots organizations working for better governance and self-sustainability. The program enables trainee organizations to gain credibility and support. It also helps them become self-sufficient by honing their skills in identifying\, accessing\, and mobilizing locally available resources. \nThe two-day trainer refresher program included sessions on expectations and challenges at the grassroots\, digital fundraising\, developments in the social sector at the global and national levels and problem-solving methods to address issues at the grassroots.

DESCRIPTION:Smile Foundation participated in the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon 2022! \nThe marathon was conducted on 16th  October 2022 at JLN stadium. Smile Foundation through its ‘Shiksha Na Ruke’ campaign raised funds for helping children from difficult circumstances get back to school and restart their lives positively.  \nIn this initiative\, Smile Foundation was supported by three corporates\, Avery Dennison India Pvt Ltd (with a team of 25 employees)\, Mars International India Pvt Ltd (with a team of 15 employees)\, Zimmer India Pvt Ltd (with a team of 15 employees)\, wherein the employees of each of the company ran for the cause and supported the dreams of many children with accessible and quality education. \nFilled with enthusiasm\, the marathon turned out a huge success as everyone encouraged one another and showed unlimited education for the education of children.

DESCRIPTION:To inculcate the scientific spirit and spark interest in science and technology among government school students\, Smile Foundation\, in association with Atlas Copco India Ltd.\, organized the Annual Science Fair at Pimple Gurav School in the PCMC area\, Pune. \nMore than 120 students from five government schools (supported under Smile Foundation’s Mission Education programme) presented Science models created by them under the guidance of Scientists and Trainers in space science and technology. \nAmong the unique attractions\, worth mentioning are the 15 paper models\, four metal models\, and STEM models that were prepared and displayed in collaboration with scientists from Indo Science Education Trust. The fair also had a display of aero modelling\, satellites & launch vehicle\, and a rocket launching demonstration.

SUMMARY:Health Camp organized in Chennai under Smile Foundation’s Swabhiman programme
DESCRIPTION:It was a heartwarming sight as many needy and ailing patients lined up to receive free healthcare services at the Health Camp organized in Sriperumbudur\, Chennai\, under Smile Foundation’s Swabhiman programme. The Health Camp was facilitated by a team of professional doctors who provided free-of-cost medical diagnosis\, medicines\, and counseling to the women on Menstrual hygiene\, Antenatal and Post Natal care\, Breastfeeding practices\, Anemia and nutrition\, Vaccination and Family planning. \nSensitizing the community people about the advantages of maintaining good health and hygiene was joined by Dow India volunteers– ERGs. The community people not only welcomed the idea of the free doorstep health camp but also promised the volunteers to instill health-seeking behavior in themselves.

Whether it’s achieving success\, embracing failure\, or harnessing their skills to create a positive impact on society\, this campaign cherishes and empowers the spirit of young learners. With this initiative\, Dell reaffirms its commitment to making education accessible\, innovative\, and empowering for students worldwide. \nAs an extension of its new campaign\, ‘Doing is the New Learning’\, Dell has collaborated with 88 schools in seven cities\, along with Smile Foundation\, to bring forth a special series called ‘Doing Good.’ The aim is to showcase the stories of students who are actively making a positive difference in their communities. \nThe primary objective is to inspire young minds to think beyond themselves and utilize technology as a catalyst for creating a meaningful impact in the world. Through awareness sessions held in over 40 privileged schools\, the flagship campaign\, Shiksha Na Ruke is brought to the forefront. \nIn addition\, Dell conducts sessions on the importance of technology\, enlightening children about its transformative power. As part of their commitment\, Dell has provided stationery items to approximately 400 children\, enabling them to pursue their educational journey effectively. \nFurthermore\, Dell has contributed five personal computers to five different centers. This will significantly enhance the educational experience for the students. \nTo amplify the impact of the Shiksha Na Ruke campaign\, Dell has leveraged its strong digital presence by promoting the cause across its social media platforms.
