SUMMARY:Awareness session on World AIDS Day in the slum of Heganahalli
DESCRIPTION:Women and young girls from slum clusters of Heganahalli in Bangalore\, Karnataka joined an awareness session cum rally was organized on World AIDS Day under the Swabhiman programme of Smile Foundation. Street plays were also conducted during the rally at Mayuranagar\, Shivanandanagar\, Saneswaranagar and Friends Colony\, to sensitize the community about HIV/AIDS\, its symptoms and precautions. Dr. Rajender from Sushruthi Hospital; Dr. Shradha\, Director\, Ekta Trust; Mrs. Sugandhi Saaliyana\, prominent social worker from the region and Mr. Venkatesh from DANI Development and Social Action also participated in the session.
