DESCRIPTION:On 1st Nov’2010 Mr.Rupesh from Westside have visited to JSS STeP Center; Dharavi. \nHe took the Guest session and Campus Interview with JSS STeP students. \nThe details of this session are as follows\, \nMr.Rupesh has started session with an introduction round with the students through name and qualification. \n31 students from JSS were there to be part of the group session. \nThe session was basically focused on the works & presence of Westside. \nMr.Rupesh briefed the group about the Westside with regards to its services and Job profile. \nAfter briefing the group Mr.Rupesh further explained about the training facilities to the students provided by Westside. They will provide 15 days training to the students and students are not allowed to take leave during the training. \nMr.Rupesh said after selection in the interview the candidates will get Rs.4500 per month for 3 month as a trainee and after 3 month the candidate will get promoted as Sales associate and also get Rs.5000 per month. \nHe also said that if the candidate is selected with Westside than the candidates will get all the facilities which are available in Westside like PF\, paid leave etc. \nTheir will be the rotation shift for the Boys as well as Girls.( Opening shift\, General shift and Closing shift) \nStudents asked to Mr.Rupesh about the promotion and work appraisal. After the question answer session Mr. Rupesh had taken campus interview with JSS STeP students. 12 students were the part of this interview in that 7 students were got selected.

SUMMARY:Exposure Visit To D.B. City\, M.P. Nagar\, Bhopal
DESCRIPTION:STeP centre in Bhopal took the Smile Twin E-learning students to D.B. City for exposure visit on 11th November 2010. Total 7 students (Boys – 3\, Girls – 4) were taken by STeP centre coordinator and faculties. STeP students were surprised to see such a big mall in Bhopal. There were six floors in the DB City. All the floors were seen by the students and they were seeing the first time such a big mall and they were enjoyed the visit. They were asking many questions to the seller of each department and they were given them explanation. The students were saying that first time they are seeing the electric lift and they were frightened to get in first time\, after that they were used to and happy to get in. We have also showed them how the staff work and make the bills etc. and how to talk with the customers friendly. The students were learned many things from the staff. They showed all mall and given the explanation of the mall. There were many students\, families; children all were come to see the mall again. \nAll the students were excited to see a huge organization and their working style. After seeing the working condition the children have understood to how to work\, how team workers are working and their responsibilities in the department. They have understood many things after seeing the mall. At present they have learned many things after the visit different items\, their selling procedure\, how to talk to customers\, how to make the bills\, how to behave to customers. Then after seeing the security department they were asking why there is so many checking and we were explained for the security reason. All this were new to all of them. \nExposure visit to DB Mall helped the students to understand the basics of organized retailing and opportunities for youth to get employment. They also had an opportunity to learn how products are advertised and exhibited by various vendors and the theory behind each display formats.

DESCRIPTION:Arshad Warsi and his wife Maria Goretti associated with Smile Foundation for the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2010. The event took place on 21st November 2010. The star couple especially came to New Delhi to cheer and support the children of Smile Foundation who were running in the half marathon. \nThe half marathon was flagged off early in the morning\, and both Arshad Warsi and Maria Gorretti proudly wearing Smile Foundation t-shirts\, were present to cheer the Intercontinental Hotels Group\, the corporate that also ran the half marathon to support Smile Foundation. This was followed by the flag off of the Great Delhi Run. Young students of the Smile Twin e-Learning Programme had participated in this category of the half marathon. The couple cheered the students from Smile Foundation with great enthusiasm. Before the Great Delhi Run was flagged off\, Arshad personally met the students from Smile to motivate all of them to finish the 6km run well. The students were very excited to meet the bollywood superstar and were overwhelmed with his gesture of personally coming to motivate them for their challenge. \nThe event was an enjoyable one for everybody. Arshad Warsi and Maria Gorreti also enjoyed cheering for Smile Foundation from the stands. As a token of appreciation\, Smile Foundation gave Arshad and Maria a certificate acknowledging their support for the organization.

DESCRIPTION:Sneh Vardhan had conducted 2 workshops in JSS STeP center at Dharavi\, Mumbai. \nMrs. Shaila Gokhale from Sneh Vardhan had taken lecture on soft skill on 23rd Nov’2010 and 24th Nov’2010 respectively. During the lecture Ms. Shaila Gokhale shares her experience & views with the student. \nShe guides the student about healthy food habits\, hygenic conditions and Safe Living. \nThe session was very interactive\, she also asks students to do mock plays. STeP students promised to utilised this training and apply the same in their day to day life.

SUMMARY:FIS Bangalore Volunteer Activity
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, 27th November\, 2010 5 employees from FIS participated in the volunteering activity at APSA\, Bangalore. \nThe session saw the participation of 40 youth who are in the 11 months training at Smile Twin e Learning centre. The session began with welcome note by Mr.Devraj from APSA. He encouraged students to make complete use of this opportunity and develop skills to create a good of cover letter and resume. \nThe session began with a few ice breaking games conducted by the FIS employees. \nThese ice breakers warmed up the group and brought participants into discussion of the session. Followed by it was the resume and cover letter making session in which the students participated actively. The second session was about the team building and functioning. \nThe FIS volunteers had designed an activity to make the students learn the importance of working together irrespective of different personalities and background. In the final session the volunteers facilitated the students to create their email accounts and register on the STeP alumni group. Overall\, the activity was an event of learning the basics of job market and tips to prepare them to join the work force. \n“Interacting with the kids was definitely a wonderful experience. It was the first of its kind for all the volunteers and each of us liked it thoroughly and would like to be a part again in future sometime.
