SUMMARY:Health awareness programme conducted for school children
DESCRIPTION:A health awareness programme was conducted for students from a school in Chennai. The children were sensitized about the importance of washing their hands before and after eating and exercising daily and the importance of playing sports and inculcating other healthy habits to avoid falling sick. The children were asked to share their daily routines and the steps they took every day to maintain hygiene. The children learnt a lot from the session and promised to follow all the good habits. \nSmile on Wheels programme at present has 34 operational projects in 265 remote villages and urban slums across India\, directly benefitting over 400\,000 lives in a year. \nSmile Foundation is a national level development organisation directly benefitting over 400\,000 children and their families every year\, through more than 200 live welfare projects on education\, healthcare\, livelihood and women empowerment\, in over 950 remote villages and slums across 25 states of India.

SUMMARY:Specialized doctor’s training conducted for Smile on Wheels doctor
DESCRIPTION:A specialized doctors’ training was held in Mumbai by Smile Foundation for the doctors working under various Smile on Wheels project at the PAN India level on 16th and 17th September 2017. \nThe session started on the 16th September with immense enthusiasm at 9 am during which the doctors first introduced themselves after which the first session on providing Basic Life Support (BLS) refresher training for the doctors was conducted. Each doctor was given an opportunity to practice the session on chest compression over a mannequin The second session was focused on the Standard Operating Procedure of Smile on Wheels. \nThe participants were given the freedom to raise questions about things they did not understand and the doctors were asked to maintain more precaution while recommending medicines. \nIt was also discussed if a e-OPD card could be generated in near future which would further enable the doctor to know about the history of the patient. The doctors were also asked to calculate the disease rates in the community. Doctors were asked to guide and help the Project Coordinators and other Para medical staff to gain more knowledge about the various medical terminology and the important IEC activity topics (Information Education & Communication) that are useful for the community.

SUMMARY:Health services for the villagers of Nimabahera
DESCRIPTION:A general health check-up was conducted for the people of Nimabahera\, Bhiwadi on the 21st of September. The people living in the village seldom go to the doctor because of the lack of immediate medical facilities. SUMMARY:Spreading awareness and sensitizing people on World Heart Day
DESCRIPTION:Awareness sessions and sensitizing programmes were conducted for the people of Wazirpur industrial area. People were informed about symptoms and causes of heart attacks\, what healthy rules should be followed to avoid diseases of the heart and what actions should be taken immediately if someone suffers from a heart attack. The people from the community were much benefitted from the session. \nSmile Foundation has initiated the Smile on Wheels programme which is a unique mobile hospital programme that seeks to address problems of mobility\, accessibility and availability of primary healthcare with a special focus on children and women\, in urban slums and remote rural areas. \nSmile Foundation is a national level development organization directly benefitting over 400\,000 children and their families every year\, through more than 200 live welfare projects on education\, healthcare\, livelihood and women empowerment\, in over 950 remote villages and slums across 25 states of India.
