DESCRIPTION:Smile on Wheels Chitradurga turns one! \nChildren and families from the community got together with the Smile on Wheels mobile hospital team in Chitradurga district\, Karnataka\, to celebrate the successful completion of one year of operations. \nPowered with a team of qualified doctor\, nurse\, lab technician\, pharmacist\, driver and a group of volunteers in the last one year\, the project has directly impacted the lives of more than 16\,000 children and families in 15 villages of the district\, providing them the much-needed healthcare services right at their doorsteps. \nSmile Foundation has initiated the Smile on Wheels programme which is a unique mobile hospital programme that seeks to address problems of mobility\, accessibility and availability of primary healthcare with a special focus on children and women\, in urban slums and remote rural areas. \nSmile Foundation is a national level development organization directly benefitting over 400\,000 children and their families every year\, through more than 200 live welfare projects on education\, healthcare\, livelihood and women empowerment\, in over 950 remote villages and slums across 25 states of India.
