SUMMARY:Child Rights groups formed in Mission Education centres
DESCRIPTION:6 Children groups have been formed in 6 settlements focusing on child rights. The groups have been formed at the settlement level for involving the whole community so that they understand the rights of the children. The project also aims to make the children aware of their rights. Initially the project staff will interact with the groups regularly to make them aware on child rights and the group will get an opportunity to interact with key stakeholders\, duty bearers and most important\, other children. The members in the children group will vary with respect to the size of child population in the IDP settlements. This is a necessary step as underprivileged children living in rural areas children often are not aware about basic rights and neither are the parents and end up victims to various kinds of child abuses. \nMission Education is a national level programme of Smile Foundation\, which is committed to providing basic education and healthcare to underprivileged children. \nSmile Foundation is an NGO in India directly benefitting over 600\,000 children and their families every year\, through more than 250 live welfare projects on education\, healthcare\, livelihood and women empowerment\, in over 950 remote villages and slums across 25 states of India.
