DESCRIPTION:35 students from ICT College\, Shiravali\, visited Smile Foundation’s Mission Education centre BHT in Kalyan\, Maharashtra to interact with children from the centre and facilitate a fun learning session. \nChildren were divided in groups and the college students engaged in activities like drawing\, painting\, games and craft making\, with the kids. \nThe kids demonstrated their talent in sports too\, leaving the students of ICT amazed to see the children excel in all the diverse activities that were organized.

SUMMARY:Open forum initiated in Mission Education centre- IPER
DESCRIPTION:An open forum has been initiated as part of the student monthly meetings organized at Smile Foundation’s Mission Education centre IPER in Kolkata\, West Bengal. The forum will encourage debate and discussion among the children studying at the centre on a varied range of relevant topics. \nIn the first session of the open forum\, discussion was held on child rights\, particularly a child’s right to education. Teachers from the centre explained about the same to children\, before leaving the field open to questions and interactions on the issue.

SUMMARY:Smile Kids participated in Summer Olympics tournament
DESCRIPTION:Children from Smile Foundation’s Mission Education centre GBS at Dharavi in Mumbai\, participated in Summer Olympics\, an Olympics-format sports tournament for the age-group of 10-16 years\, at the Goregaon Sports Club. Children from various schools\, institutions and NGOs had registered for the Summer Olympics\, which was aimed at promoting sports among youth. \nSmile kids participated in all the individual sports categories that were being played. They performed very well and the team finished as the First Runner Up\, along with several first position titles in different games.
