SUMMARY:Hansraj Morarji students invite Smile kids to school
DESCRIPTION:Students of Hansraj Morarji Public School\, Andheri West (Mumbai) invited Smile Foundation children from its Mission Education programme’s Holy Mother School for spending a day together. \nThey played cricket match in mixed teams\, competed in bicycle racing\, celebrated competitiveness and shared the joy of friendship. The host children organised a special lunch for their visiting friends. \nSmile Foundation brings privileged and underprivileged children on the same platform through CFC. It not only helps the privileged children realize their bliss in life but also enhances the confidence of the less privileged counterparts. \nCFC is based on the belief that children are the future of a nation. They are the best change agents\, be it in the family or the community in which they live. It is therefore crucial to catch them young and inculcate in them feelings of empathy and conscience so that they grow up as responsible individuals.

SUMMARY:Bridging the Gap
DESCRIPTION:Students from Sri Shikshayatan School\, Kolkata\, documented Mission Education Programme’s IPER centre in the city. The students have been regular visitors to the centre and have befriended many younger kids there. \nThe students interviewed the Director of IPER as well as the Mission Education project coordinator\, asking them about the challenges faced while providing education to underprivileged kids. \nThey also captured ongoing lessons in the classrooms\, sports\, art and other co-curricular activities at the centre. The teachers shared the special teaching methodology they use to make learning easy and fun for the kids. \nThe children from the centre were interviewed about their interests and dreams and happily posed for the lens. At the end the Smile kids broke into an impromptu dance and were joined by students from Sri Shikshayatan. \nSuch interactions between the privileged and underprivileged kids are encouraged by Smile Foundation under its Child for Child programme to sensitize the privileged children towards their disadvantaged counterparts.
