SUMMARY:Under-privileged children celebrate Friendship Day with privileged children
DESCRIPTION:In a Friendship Day event held at a school in Chandigarh 25 underprivileged children from a Mission Education centre visited a school for privileged children and interacted with them. Both the groups exchanged stories of their friends\, talked about the importance of the day and had a good session on why it is important to interact with friends from all walks and what they could learn from each other. The children also painted imprints of their hands on a poster symbolizing solidarity with one another. \nCFC currently reaches out to nearly one million privileged children in 900 schools spread across 417 districts of India\, every year. In addition\, their parents and teachers are also involved in the process. The programme has today reached out to each part of India with the exception of Lakshadweep. \nSmile Foundation is an NGO in India directly benefitting over 600\,000 children and their families every year\, through more than 250 live welfare projects on education\, healthcare\, livelihood and women empowerment\, in over 950 remote villages and slums across 25 states of India.
