SUMMARY:Swabhiman activities benefits men\, women and the society
DESCRIPTION:Swabhiman project titled “Empowering Women and Adolescent Girls Through Reproductive Health Education and Services” in Surat Nagar phase 2 in Gurugram\, with the aim to empower women and girl by generating awareness and providing access to quality reproductive and sexual health care. In addition\, male involvement and their sensitization is an integral part. The focus beneficiary groups included adolescent (10-19 years)\, women in reproductive age (20-49 years) and men (20-49 years). \nThrough this project 16\,465 people reached extensively and sensitized on reproductive and sexual health. 403 contraceptives & 286 sanitary napkins were distributed to promote practice of family planning and hygiene. 1315 people received free health services through periodic health camps. 131 pregnant women and 119 lactating mothers were constantly guided for proper Ante Natal and Post Natal Care. 931 community members sensitized on reproductive and sexual health issues through BCC\, and there was celebration of important days & workshops were conducted by health experts. Approximately 1000 people availed free of cost health services through periodic health camps that imbibed a health seeking behavior among the community members.

SUMMARY:PepsiCo. celebrates Children’s Day with Smile Foundation children
DESCRIPTION:The Kids of Smile’s Mission Education centre \, Hyderabad spent a fun filled day with the employees of PepsiCo when they visited the children at their centre as part their employee engagement activity. 10 employees\, made their day unforgettable. They conducted games like sack race\, running race & skipping. Children tapped their feet to music. The employees from PepsiCo. also danced & sang with the children in their local language . Kids were asked to draw the topic of their choice & later awarded prizes. Cake & snacks were served at the end of the activity. Pepsi Co also donated sports equipments for the children of the centre. \nMission Education is a national level programme of Smile Foundation\, which is committed to providing basic education and healthcare to underprivileged children.

SUMMARY:Smile Foundation participates in Tropicana Gift a Tree initiative with Vikas Khanna
DESCRIPTION:At a time when pollution levels are increasing at an unprecedented rate it has become important for us to find a solution to the problem and encourage healthy living. There is no better way than to involve young minds and sensitize them from an early age to take care of the environment. Keeping the same in mind children form one of Smile Foundation’s Mission Education centre in Delhi participated in Tropicana’s Gift a Tree initiative on the 16th of November. Smile Foundation Goodwill Ambassador Vikas Khanna planted tress with the children and also unveiled his new book for children- “A Tree Named Ganga”. Over 250 children participated in the event and were seen having a great time interacting with their favorite chef at the event. \nTropicana’s Gift A Tree initiative aims to spread awareness about the importance of planting trees. The brand partnered with the ‘Rally for Rivers’ and grow-trees.com\, and has pledged to plant over 25\,000 trees. \nSmile Foundation is a national level development organization directly benefitting over 400\,000 children and their families every year\, through more than 200 live welfare projects on education\, healthcare\, livelihood and women empowerment\, in over 950 remote villages and slums across 25 states of India.

DESCRIPTION:Anushi Gundecha\, a goodwill ambassador for Smile Foundation’s Child for Child programme recently spend a fun filled day with children from a Mission Education centre in Mumbai. She celebrated Diwali with the children by making diyas and they also made colorful cards together. She was accompanied by her friends and family. \nAnushi has pledged to promote the cause of education for less privileged children in India with the support of other privileged kids. The kids also enjoyed the celebration a lot. \nUnder Child for Child programme\, Smile Foundation visits various schools and conducts engaging sessions for the young minds.
