SUMMARY:Swabhiman activities benefits men\, women and the society
DESCRIPTION:Swabhiman project titled “Empowering Women and Adolescent Girls Through Reproductive Health Education and Services” in Surat Nagar phase 2 in Gurugram\, with the aim to empower women and girl by generating awareness and providing access to quality reproductive and sexual health care. In addition\, male involvement and their sensitization is an integral part. The focus beneficiary groups included adolescent (10-19 years)\, women in reproductive age (20-49 years) and men (20-49 years). \nThrough this project 16\,465 people reached extensively and sensitized on reproductive and sexual health. 403 contraceptives & 286 sanitary napkins were distributed to promote practice of family planning and hygiene. 1315 people received free health services through periodic health camps. 131 pregnant women and 119 lactating mothers were constantly guided for proper Ante Natal and Post Natal Care. 931 community members sensitized on reproductive and sexual health issues through BCC\, and there was celebration of important days & workshops were conducted by health experts. Approximately 1000 people availed free of cost health services through periodic health camps that imbibed a health seeking behavior among the community members.

SUMMARY:Virender Sehwag inspires children from Smile Foundation
DESCRIPTION:Virender Sehwag the Internationally acclaimed former vice-captain of the Indian cricket team spent a day interacting with children from Smile Foundation. The cricketer interacted with the girls and inspired them to study and work hard. He also shared some interesting moments of his life and career with the children. \nHe was greatly touched by the work that was being done by Smile Foundation and said\,” There are very few organizations which do commendable work in the field of education\, Smile Foundation is one of them. It is a huge task to work with the children residing in the slums\, giving them a good education. Educating the girl child and imparting skill based education is also a great milestone that Smile Foundation has been able to achieve. I wholeheartedly support Smile Foundation and its endeavors and will continue to do so in the future. I hope more people will join the cause with me which will greatly benefit many more children who cannot afford to go to school.” \nSmile Foundation is a national level development organisation directly benefitting over 400\,000 children and their families every year\, through more than 200 live welfare projects on education\, healthcare\, livelihood and women empowerment\, in over 950 remote villages and slums across 25 states of India.
