SUMMARY:Swabhiman activities benefits men\, women and the society
DESCRIPTION:Swabhiman project titled “Empowering Women and Adolescent Girls Through Reproductive Health Education and Services” in Surat Nagar phase 2 in Gurugram\, with the aim to empower women and girl by generating awareness and providing access to quality reproductive and sexual health care. In addition\, male involvement and their sensitization is an integral part. The focus beneficiary groups included adolescent (10-19 years)\, women in reproductive age (20-49 years) and men (20-49 years). \nThrough this project 16\,465 people reached extensively and sensitized on reproductive and sexual health. 403 contraceptives & 286 sanitary napkins were distributed to promote practice of family planning and hygiene. 1315 people received free health services through periodic health camps. 131 pregnant women and 119 lactating mothers were constantly guided for proper Ante Natal and Post Natal Care. 931 community members sensitized on reproductive and sexual health issues through BCC\, and there was celebration of important days & workshops were conducted by health experts. Approximately 1000 people availed free of cost health services through periodic health camps that imbibed a health seeking behavior among the community members.

SUMMARY:Second edition of Smile International Film Festival for Children and Youth concludes
DESCRIPTION:The second edition of Smile International Film Festival for Children and Youth which was flagged off on the 5th of December 2016 by Bollywood stars Manoj Bajpayee and Saiyami Kher concluded on the 11th of December 2016 at the Siri Fort Auditorium in New Delhi amid much fanfare. Bringing world cinema to the children and youth of India\, this one-of-its-kind film festival is aimed at celebrating the power of films beyond their entertainment value\, as a medium to engage young minds positively and inspire them to lead a better life. The festival got an overwhelming response from the audience as more than 10\,000 children from the city turned up and the films ran to packed auditoriums. \nThe jury of the festival included Sannette Naeyé(Director Cinekid– Amsterdam\, Netherlands)\, Füsun Eriksen(Danish Cultural Institute Advisor\, Former Festival Director – Buster\, Copenhagen Film Festival) and Ashok Rane (National Award-winning Film Critic\, Researcher\, Film academician & Film Maker / Director). \nMore than 100 movies from around the globe were screened and workshops on cinematography and art-design by eminent personalities like Shanti Bhushan Roy and Sukant Panigrahy of Fitoor fame\, respectively were conducted. \nChidiya from India directed by Mehran Amrohi was awarded as the Best Feature film. The award for Best Direction went to Eduward Bordukov for The Pitch. The award for the Best Story went to Joachim Dollhoph for his story At Eye Level. Leonie Souchaud bagged the Best Actor award for Fanny’s Journey. For the full list of awardees visit siffcy.org \nThe festival’s success was made possible with support from various partners. International Organizations like FSI (India)\, BFI (London)\, CINEKID (Netherlands) and Wild Geese Foundation were the Festival Partners. The Event Production Partner was EMARS Events. Ultra\, MSL Group\, Indian Institute of Photography\, Creative Hub\, Business World and Roohafza Fusion came on board as Official Partners. Other Partners and Supporters included FilmFreeway\, Withoutabox\, Alliance Francaise\, Taiwan\, Flair\, Goethe Institut\, Viacom18\, Indie Sales\, Pomegranate\, Film Critics Circle of India\, Children’s International Film Festival\, Anti Pode\, Copenhagen Bombay\, Arri Media\, The Match Factory\, National Film Board of Canada\, Good Image\, The Festival Agency\, Fever FM\, Blogadda and Purple People Labs. School Partners included Bharti Public School\, Billabong High International School\, Delhi Police Public School\, Butler Memorial School\, Mother Global School\, CRPF Public School\, St. Johns School and Victoria Girls Senior Secondary School. \nThe concluding ceremony was graced by Bollywood actor Vinay Pathak.

SUMMARY:Parent Teacher meet held at Mission Education centres
DESCRIPTION:On\, 11 December organized parent teachers meeting was organized at Sirgitti\, Chakarbhata and Budhwari(Navapara) Mission Education centers. Various subjected relevant about the health\, hygiene\, education\, environment and nutrition were discussed in the meeting. Parents-teachers meetings are conducted every month in which the parents are encouraged to send their children to the centre regularly. Parents are asked to take active involvement in their child’s learning process. Child’s progress report is also shared with the parents.
