DESCRIPTION:On the occasion of Teacher’s Day and making the grand celebration of 20 glorious years of Indira Group of Institutes\, Chairperson Dr. Tarita Shankar\, who is also the Goodwill Ambassador for the cause of education for the girl child culminated a month long campaign with Smile Foundation called\, ‘Skip a Meal to Educate a Child’. \nThis campaign was an effort to sensitize the faculty\, department heads and students of the institute towards being a reason for someone to smile. It focused on ensuring nutrition for better literacy for the girl child. Through this campaign across all the Indira campuses\, people were encouraged to donate a sum that they would usually spend on a meal\, ensuring a healthy future for 50 girl children for a year. \nSpeaking about the initiative\, Dr. Tarita Shankar\, Chairperson\, Indira Group of Institutes and Smile Foundation’s Goodwill Ambassador for girl child education said\, “In these 20 years of Indira’s existence\, the fact that has inspired me the most is to be a reason for someone’s happiness and success. No feeling is more satisfying than this. I am delighted to be a part of the Smile Foundation family and support the cause which is close to my heart .This is also a humble effort towards all associated with Indira to come forward and be the change they wish to see in the world.”
