SUMMARY:Smile Health Camp at Mansarovar Park\, Delhi
DESCRIPTION:A specialised Smile Health Camp was organised for the homeless community living around Mansarovar Park in Shahdara. The focus was on young mothers and children. \nSmile on Wheels mobile hospital\, which operates in the eastern and northern fringes of Delhi with St. Stephen’s Hospital\, was also available during the camp. \nDr. Vineeta Gupta\, Dr. Himani Tak and Dr. Amita Sharma led the health camp supported by lab technician Mr. Danish Khan\, pharmacist Mr. Narendra Kumar and a team of volunteers from BlackRock\, which had supported the camp. \nBeing homeless and daily wage earners\, sometimes these underprivileged people are left out of the routine health programmes. Specialized and multi-disciplinary health camps are the only solutions for them\, especially children and young mothers. \nBesides giving services to 257 children and women\, five serious cases were also identified and referred to the nearby GTB Hospital for regular treatment follow-up.
