SUMMARY:5 health camps in Nagapattinam\, Tamil Nadu
DESCRIPTION:Health Camps model work as an immediate solution while addressing continued health issues in rural areas. Sometimes health care services are either out of reach or a “health-seeking behaviour’ is below average in such areas. \nA series of five intensive health camps were conducted in Nagapattinam district in Tamil Nadu. Curative\, preventive and promotive services were made available to 1250 people based on the health profiles. \nMobile Hospital approach under ‘Smile on Wheels’ is the other health delivery model of Smile Foundation which takes specialized services to an identified cluster of villages or urban slums in an area. \nChennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (CPCL) supported Smile Foundation for the first series of tailor-made health camps in Nagapattinam.
