SUMMARY:20 Health Camps in association with NSIC
DESCRIPTION:Twenty health camps were conducted by Smile Foundation in various parts of Delhi NCR in association with National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC). This initiative is part of an Integrated Community Development Project started by Smile Foundation and NSIC and was launched in December 2011. This project focuses at the holistic development of the underprivileged living in slums of Delhi NCR\, through education\, healthcare and women empowerment. \nThese health camps that were conducted provided curative\, preventive\, promotive and referral healthcare services to the people. OPD services for prevalent common ailments\, growth check-ups for children\, treatment for malnutrient cases\, dispensing of medicines for common ailments\, dental check-ups and eye check-ups were mainly the services that were made available in these camps. \nThey were conducted in 20 different slums across Delhi NCR\, namely – Rangpuri\, Tuglakabad\, Dhaula Kuan\, Mansarovar Park\, Rohini\, Sunder Nagri\, Sastri Nagar\, Jahangir Puri\, Kalyanvas\, Tilpath\, Majnu Ka Tila\, Gurgaon\, Motiya Khan\, Khori Kingsway Camp\, Jahank Puri\, Bhalaswa\, Tahirpur\, Wazirpur\, Nand Nagri and Faridabad. \nAll the health camps received overwhelming response from the people. As many as 5021 people were benefited. \nThe objective of conducting these health camps was to create awareness of general health among the people\, providing general health care services and counseling them\, on basic healthcare and hygiene. \nMajority of people were diagnosed with various common but seriously neglected problems such as diarrhea\, cholera and cataract in the eyes. There were also a few cases\, detected with major health problems; these cases were further referred to the referral hospital.

SUMMARY:Health the greatest treasure
DESCRIPTION:Smile Foundation in support with Gas Authority of India Limited organised a health camp for the beneficiaries residing around the project location in Guna. The health camp conducted provided primary and referral health care services to the patients. Around 402 people came over to the camp to avail healthcare services\, wherein eight cases of Malaria were referred to the government hospitals. All types of primary and comprehensive services had been provided to the people. \nMr. R.K. Sharma\, DGM GAIL\, Mr. O.P. Kothari\, Block Education Officer (BEO)\, Mr. Chauhan\, Block Academic Coordinator\, Mrs. Kori (CDPO\, ICDS)\, Mrs. Aabha Saxena (Block Programme Manager – NRHM)\, Mr. Purushottam Puri (Ward Member) and Mr. Lokendra Singh Block Coordinator MPJAP (Madhya Pradesh Jan Bahiyan Parishad) attended the health camp and also interacted with the beneficiaries. \nSmile health camp teams also conducted sensitization activity within the community to sensitize the people on common preventable health problems and to improve the health and hygiene of the people residing there.
