SUMMARY:20 Health Camps in association with NSIC
DESCRIPTION:Twenty health camps were conducted by Smile Foundation in various parts of Delhi NCR in association with National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC). This initiative is part of an Integrated Community Development Project started by Smile Foundation and NSIC and was launched in December 2011. This project focuses at the holistic development of the underprivileged living in slums of Delhi NCR\, through education\, healthcare and women empowerment. \nThese health camps that were conducted provided curative\, preventive\, promotive and referral healthcare services to the people. OPD services for prevalent common ailments\, growth check-ups for children\, treatment for malnutrient cases\, dispensing of medicines for common ailments\, dental check-ups and eye check-ups were mainly the services that were made available in these camps. \nThey were conducted in 20 different slums across Delhi NCR\, namely – Rangpuri\, Tuglakabad\, Dhaula Kuan\, Mansarovar Park\, Rohini\, Sunder Nagri\, Sastri Nagar\, Jahangir Puri\, Kalyanvas\, Tilpath\, Majnu Ka Tila\, Gurgaon\, Motiya Khan\, Khori Kingsway Camp\, Jahank Puri\, Bhalaswa\, Tahirpur\, Wazirpur\, Nand Nagri and Faridabad. \nAll the health camps received overwhelming response from the people. As many as 5021 people were benefited. \nThe objective of conducting these health camps was to create awareness of general health among the people\, providing general health care services and counseling them\, on basic healthcare and hygiene. \nMajority of people were diagnosed with various common but seriously neglected problems such as diarrhea\, cholera and cataract in the eyes. There were also a few cases\, detected with major health problems; these cases were further referred to the referral hospital.

SUMMARY:Health awareness camp with GAIL
DESCRIPTION:Smile Foundation organised a health camp in Ahmedpur. It was an initiative under the Integrated Development project being implemented by Smile Foundation with support from Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL). \nThe health camp was conducted to provide primary healthcare services to the underprivileged community dwellers of Ahmedpur. Mobilization\, awareness session on health and hygiene\, general health check up such as eye check up\, BP and weight check up were made available in the camp. Medicines were also distributed to the patients. This camp has benefitted over 218 people in the entire community. \nDignified government officials such as Dr. Sadhana (Block Medical Officer)\, Ms. Aabha Saxena (Block Program Manager\, NRHM) and Mr. Lokendra (Jan Abhiyan Parishad) attended the health camp. \nThe health camp was resulted into a positive impact in the village.

SUMMARY:Motivational session with Abhay and Esha
DESCRIPTION:Bollywood actors Abhay Deol and Esha Gupta invited the children of Smile Foundation for a motivational session in Mumbai. Abhay Deol invited the children to spend some quality time with them. The children gifted a bouquet of flowers to Abhay and Esha\, which they were happy to get. Cheering the children they had a lot of interactions on films\, their dreams in life and also doing good for others. \nAbhay motivated the children to ‘dream big in life which would bring respect and also do good to others.’ \nThe actors also gifted some presents to the children\, who getting the gifts felt really special. The children also wished the actors best of success for their upcoming movie ‘Chakravuyh’.
