SUMMARY:20 Health Camps in association with NSIC
DESCRIPTION:Twenty health camps were conducted by Smile Foundation in various parts of Delhi NCR in association with National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC). This initiative is part of an Integrated Community Development Project started by Smile Foundation and NSIC and was launched in December 2011. This project focuses at the holistic development of the underprivileged living in slums of Delhi NCR\, through education\, healthcare and women empowerment. \nThese health camps that were conducted provided curative\, preventive\, promotive and referral healthcare services to the people. OPD services for prevalent common ailments\, growth check-ups for children\, treatment for malnutrient cases\, dispensing of medicines for common ailments\, dental check-ups and eye check-ups were mainly the services that were made available in these camps. \nThey were conducted in 20 different slums across Delhi NCR\, namely – Rangpuri\, Tuglakabad\, Dhaula Kuan\, Mansarovar Park\, Rohini\, Sunder Nagri\, Sastri Nagar\, Jahangir Puri\, Kalyanvas\, Tilpath\, Majnu Ka Tila\, Gurgaon\, Motiya Khan\, Khori Kingsway Camp\, Jahank Puri\, Bhalaswa\, Tahirpur\, Wazirpur\, Nand Nagri and Faridabad. \nAll the health camps received overwhelming response from the people. As many as 5021 people were benefited. \nThe objective of conducting these health camps was to create awareness of general health among the people\, providing general health care services and counseling them\, on basic healthcare and hygiene. \nMajority of people were diagnosed with various common but seriously neglected problems such as diarrhea\, cholera and cataract in the eyes. There were also a few cases\, detected with major health problems; these cases were further referred to the referral hospital.

SUMMARY:Ganpati Bappa Moria by Smile children
DESCRIPTION:Smile Foundation project centre in Jajpur\, supported by JSL\, celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with much enthusiasm. This festival is celebrated to mark the advent of the master of all knowledge\, intelligence and wisdom\, Lord Ganesha. The students and staff sang devotional songs and offered aarti and prasad to Lord Ganesha. \nDistinguished dignitaries of the area and the members of Mothers Association and Village Education Committees attended the programme at different centres. \nAll the dignitaries addressed the students and threw light on the importance of the day. In the end sweet packets were distributed among the students.

SUMMARY:Employer Engagement Programme
DESCRIPTION:Employer Engagement Programme is an important component of the STeP training program. It provides a unique exposure of sharing and gathering first hand information for the participants. To make the program strong and more effective one of the STeP centre OVHA located at Bhubaneswar conducted an Employment Engagement program at their respective STeP centre. \nExecutives from Millan Jyoti International Pvt Ltd shared their valuable professional inputs from various industries and corporate which has helped in preparing youths for a better career. The program was an eye opener for the students as they got lots of information and in return it was motivating and inspiring for them. The students gained various knowledge about various opportunities in the sector related to the company. As a result the session was very informative for them.The students were provided with an insight about the work culture in various industries. This also gives students opportunity for getting their career queries served by the professionals.
