SUMMARY:20 Health Camps in association with NSIC
DESCRIPTION:Twenty health camps were conducted by Smile Foundation in various parts of Delhi NCR in association with National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC). This initiative is part of an Integrated Community Development Project started by Smile Foundation and NSIC and was launched in December 2011. This project focuses at the holistic development of the underprivileged living in slums of Delhi NCR\, through education\, healthcare and women empowerment. \nThese health camps that were conducted provided curative\, preventive\, promotive and referral healthcare services to the people. OPD services for prevalent common ailments\, growth check-ups for children\, treatment for malnutrient cases\, dispensing of medicines for common ailments\, dental check-ups and eye check-ups were mainly the services that were made available in these camps. \nThey were conducted in 20 different slums across Delhi NCR\, namely – Rangpuri\, Tuglakabad\, Dhaula Kuan\, Mansarovar Park\, Rohini\, Sunder Nagri\, Sastri Nagar\, Jahangir Puri\, Kalyanvas\, Tilpath\, Majnu Ka Tila\, Gurgaon\, Motiya Khan\, Khori Kingsway Camp\, Jahank Puri\, Bhalaswa\, Tahirpur\, Wazirpur\, Nand Nagri and Faridabad. \nAll the health camps received overwhelming response from the people. As many as 5021 people were benefited. \nThe objective of conducting these health camps was to create awareness of general health among the people\, providing general health care services and counseling them\, on basic healthcare and hygiene. \nMajority of people were diagnosed with various common but seriously neglected problems such as diarrhea\, cholera and cataract in the eyes. There were also a few cases\, detected with major health problems; these cases were further referred to the referral hospital.

SUMMARY:Happy Birthday "Sanjay Dutt"
DESCRIPTION:Smile Foundation children in Mumbai recently met actor Sanjay Dutt at his residence in\, Mumbai to celebrate his birthday. The children were invited to be a part of a small and simple birthday celebration at his residence. Sanjay specially took time off from his busy schedule to spend a lot of time with the children. \nThe children gifted him a cake\, with a handmade card and flowers. He cut the cake along with Smile kids and in turn gave them chocolates and gifts which the children were very excited to get. \nSanjay spent the whole evening interacting with the children\, asking about their hobbies and dreams. He also spoke about his upcoming film Son of Sardar. To cheer them up Sanjay also shared some of dialogues from his films Munna Bhai and Agneepath. \nBesides the fun & frolic he encouraged the kids to work fairly and hard to achieve their desired goals and never to lose hope in difficult situation.
