SUMMARY:20 Health Camps in association with NSIC
DESCRIPTION:Twenty health camps were conducted by Smile Foundation in various parts of Delhi NCR in association with National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC). This initiative is part of an Integrated Community Development Project started by Smile Foundation and NSIC and was launched in December 2011. This project focuses at the holistic development of the underprivileged living in slums of Delhi NCR\, through education\, healthcare and women empowerment. \nThese health camps that were conducted provided curative\, preventive\, promotive and referral healthcare services to the people. OPD services for prevalent common ailments\, growth check-ups for children\, treatment for malnutrient cases\, dispensing of medicines for common ailments\, dental check-ups and eye check-ups were mainly the services that were made available in these camps. \nThey were conducted in 20 different slums across Delhi NCR\, namely – Rangpuri\, Tuglakabad\, Dhaula Kuan\, Mansarovar Park\, Rohini\, Sunder Nagri\, Sastri Nagar\, Jahangir Puri\, Kalyanvas\, Tilpath\, Majnu Ka Tila\, Gurgaon\, Motiya Khan\, Khori Kingsway Camp\, Jahank Puri\, Bhalaswa\, Tahirpur\, Wazirpur\, Nand Nagri and Faridabad. \nAll the health camps received overwhelming response from the people. As many as 5021 people were benefited. \nThe objective of conducting these health camps was to create awareness of general health among the people\, providing general health care services and counseling them\, on basic healthcare and hygiene. \nMajority of people were diagnosed with various common but seriously neglected problems such as diarrhea\, cholera and cataract in the eyes. There were also a few cases\, detected with major health problems; these cases were further referred to the referral hospital.

SUMMARY:Exposure Visit at Hotel Brahmaputra Ashok
DESCRIPTION:On 23rd July 2012 an Exposure Visit was organized at Hotel Brahmaputra Ashok contact person there were Mr. Dewan General Manager \,Mr. Amitabh Sarma(Executive Operations\,and Ms Ani Singh Human Resourse Executive of Hotel Brahmaputra Ashok. Ms. Ani Singh gave Introduction of ITDC Brahmaputra Ashok and their employment generation activities for youth.Mentally preparing the students to take up challenges and get ready to enter the job scenario. Making them aware about the hospitality openings.Informing them about the requirements for the jobs.Giving them a brief about the front office\, Food& beverages\, house keeping and marketing from the service industry. \nThey also advised that hospitality can be best option for them among the four as the growth rate is high in this industry.They not only gave them the overview of the working culture but they also motivated them to be a sincere and hard working employee. \nOutcome of the program \n\nThe students were provided the much required information about the various sectors.\nThe students and the team from Hotel Brahmaputra Ashok had a very informative and useful discussion which can help our students take the right decision about their career.\nWe have been asked to bring in more youth in need of training for hospitality.
