SUMMARY:20 Health Camps in association with NSIC
DESCRIPTION:Twenty health camps were conducted by Smile Foundation in various parts of Delhi NCR in association with National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC). This initiative is part of an Integrated Community Development Project started by Smile Foundation and NSIC and was launched in December 2011. This project focuses at the holistic development of the underprivileged living in slums of Delhi NCR\, through education\, healthcare and women empowerment. \nThese health camps that were conducted provided curative\, preventive\, promotive and referral healthcare services to the people. OPD services for prevalent common ailments\, growth check-ups for children\, treatment for malnutrient cases\, dispensing of medicines for common ailments\, dental check-ups and eye check-ups were mainly the services that were made available in these camps. \nThey were conducted in 20 different slums across Delhi NCR\, namely – Rangpuri\, Tuglakabad\, Dhaula Kuan\, Mansarovar Park\, Rohini\, Sunder Nagri\, Sastri Nagar\, Jahangir Puri\, Kalyanvas\, Tilpath\, Majnu Ka Tila\, Gurgaon\, Motiya Khan\, Khori Kingsway Camp\, Jahank Puri\, Bhalaswa\, Tahirpur\, Wazirpur\, Nand Nagri and Faridabad. \nAll the health camps received overwhelming response from the people. As many as 5021 people were benefited. \nThe objective of conducting these health camps was to create awareness of general health among the people\, providing general health care services and counseling them\, on basic healthcare and hygiene. \nMajority of people were diagnosed with various common but seriously neglected problems such as diarrhea\, cholera and cataract in the eyes. There were also a few cases\, detected with major health problems; these cases were further referred to the referral hospital.

SUMMARY:Exposure Visit: Mega Mall
DESCRIPTION:STeP\, SHED organized an exposure visit for the students of Smile Twin e – learning program at Mega Mall situated in Goregaon\, Mumbai on dated May 30th 2012.12 students along with the instructor were part of the visit. It was initiated to provide a better understanding and a working environment for the students. The student received a warm response from Mr. Abdul and was guided with the brief idea of the Mall environment and the operational procedure. Students visited different types of shops which were there in Mall premises. They took a relevant understanding about Floor Management\, Security Operations\, House Keeping and various seasonal events. The beneficiaries keenly observed the whole program and had an immense learning experience for them to excel in their life.

SUMMARY:Exposure visit at ORBIT Mall
DESCRIPTION:On 30th June 2012 30 students were taken an exposure visit to “ORBIT MALL”. Discussed about foreign retail sector in India as well as Indian retail sector in foreign Country Ms Sarita had taken the students to the Mall and she introduced them to the Manager. They visited Barista and KFC and Sarita introduced the students to the different outlets. The students went around and got a lot of information on Barista and KFC. The students interacted with the staff and learnt how to talk to customers. This visit was arranged in the afternoon. Sarita apprised the Manager of ORBIT Mall the details of the course conducted by SMILE Foundation. The Management was very happy with the course that we are conducting and promised to contact us as and when there is a vacancy. \nThey were shown how they take care of customers and how to take orders. They interacted with the staff and cleared all the doubts they had.
