SUMMARY:20 Health Camps in association with NSIC
DESCRIPTION:Twenty health camps were conducted by Smile Foundation in various parts of Delhi NCR in association with National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC). This initiative is part of an Integrated Community Development Project started by Smile Foundation and NSIC and was launched in December 2011. This project focuses at the holistic development of the underprivileged living in slums of Delhi NCR\, through education\, healthcare and women empowerment. \nThese health camps that were conducted provided curative\, preventive\, promotive and referral healthcare services to the people. OPD services for prevalent common ailments\, growth check-ups for children\, treatment for malnutrient cases\, dispensing of medicines for common ailments\, dental check-ups and eye check-ups were mainly the services that were made available in these camps. \nThey were conducted in 20 different slums across Delhi NCR\, namely – Rangpuri\, Tuglakabad\, Dhaula Kuan\, Mansarovar Park\, Rohini\, Sunder Nagri\, Sastri Nagar\, Jahangir Puri\, Kalyanvas\, Tilpath\, Majnu Ka Tila\, Gurgaon\, Motiya Khan\, Khori Kingsway Camp\, Jahank Puri\, Bhalaswa\, Tahirpur\, Wazirpur\, Nand Nagri and Faridabad. \nAll the health camps received overwhelming response from the people. As many as 5021 people were benefited. \nThe objective of conducting these health camps was to create awareness of general health among the people\, providing general health care services and counseling them\, on basic healthcare and hygiene. \nMajority of people were diagnosed with various common but seriously neglected problems such as diarrhea\, cholera and cataract in the eyes. There were also a few cases\, detected with major health problems; these cases were further referred to the referral hospital.

SUMMARY:SEMINAR ON ORAL HEALTH CARE LESSONS
DESCRIPTION:On 15 February 2012 a seminar was conducted for the students of our institute. The topic was on Oral Health Care Lessons. More than 60 students of Don Bosco Navjeevan Centre attended the seminar. The resource persons were Dr. Amrita & Dr. Astha who are working under Dr. H.S Chawla\, the Padmashree and Punjab Rattan Awardee and the programmer coordinators were Dr. Alingjor & Dr. L.D. The seminar started around 10.00 am and ended at 1.00 p.m. In the beginning the resource persons were welcomed by Dr. L.D. Phonce and Dr. Sebastian. Dr. Alingjor was managing the stage. The Resource persons gave a short but very effective talk on Oral Health and mouth diseases. The children listened attentatively. The Drs. Even Showed the pictures of mouth and teeth Diseases for most of the students it was an eye opener. After the talk Dr. Amrita & Dr. Astha were told to distribute the Kit bag to each student. The students were delighted to get the Kit bag. After this Dr. Alingjor conducted practical sessions on Oral Health in different groups. He conducted different activity connected with the Oral Health. Dr. Alignjor divided students in six different groups. The students took very active part in the smaller groups. It was very encouraging to see them so active and fully alive. The seminar was in Don Bosco Navjeevan Centre\, Sector 24 – B\, Chandigarh. The students gained a lot from this seminar. For them it was very enriching and enlightening experience. The students spoke very highly about the seminar. Dr. Alingjor conducted the activity beautifully and with dedication. After the talk the Drs. checked some of the students who were having some problems in the teeth & mouth. They have been referred to the dental clinic.

SUMMARY:Employment Engagement Program
DESCRIPTION:Employment Engagement Program was organized at NIPUN-STeP center\, Nihal Vihar on 15th Feb. 2011 by Ms. Neeru Jain Business Manager and Ms. Masisha Kabdwal Vertical Manager from SYREX for the beneficiaries enrolled at the STeP center. Syrex is a BPO company and recruit female candidates only. \nThe main objective for organizing the Employment Engagement Program was to disseminate information regarding the job scenario including the process of getting a job in the BPO sector\, eligibility\, shifts\, profile etc. Poonam Malik and Jasleen Kaur students from the center were selected for the job interview for 15 feb 2012.
