STeP students taken on exposure visits for skill enhancement
Smile Twin e- Learning programme, is an attempt to help underprivileged youth to gain employment in various sectors and hence monthly exposure visits are conducted for the students to let them gain a firsthand experience of what it is like in a work place. Recent visits were conducted to various retail sectors for the students of Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Pune centers and they were accompanied by their instructors A total of 17exposure visits were conducted which helped the students gain a wide range of knowledge. The students were taken to Spencer’s, Star Baazar and the likes to get a feel of how the everyday activities in such places take place. The programme aims to provide an exposure to the students with learning opportunities on latest trends and practices at the workplace.
Smile Twin E- learning Programme (STeP) is an initiative of Smile Foundation that aims at creating a pool of young and independent people, from a section of underprivileged youth, through skill enhancement in tandem with market requirements. It is an effort towards bridging the gap between demand and supply of skilled manpower in the fast emerging services and retail sectors of modern India.
Smile Foundation is a national level development organization directly benefitting over 400,000 children and their families every year, through more than 200 live welfare projects on education, healthcare, livelihood and women empowerment, in over 950 remote villages and slums across 25 states of India.
