Improving Nutritional Status of Girls in Banaskantha
A one year pilot program on “Nutrition Enhancement” has been designed for implementation in a cluster of 10 villages of Amirgarh block of Banaskantha to reduce anemia and improve nutritional status among 1000 girls. The block has prevalence of anemia, malnutrition, discontinuation of schooling and lack of opportunities for girls. The project aims to expand choices for the girls to break the cycle of poor health and nutrition. Provisioning of hygienically prepared healthy dry snacks using local ingredients during the meetings with adolescent girls and monthly events for joyful learning for promoting regular consumption of nutritious food are some of the activities to be conducted.
