Ray of hope for the orphans and poor in Odisha
This project in Subalaya village, Sonepur district of Odisha provides education to the orphans and underprivileged children. Besides imparting education, the project also promotes health, hygiene and environmental awareness in the area.
At present 43 children between the age group of 7 and 13 are enrolled in the free education centre. The classes are held in two shifts with the main subjects undertaken like English, Oriya, Mathematics, General Science and Social Science.
Besides basic education, remedial education classes are also organised for students of class IV till class VII to improve the educational standard of the orphans and poor children. The importance is given on the overall health as well as behaviour of the students.
Smile Foundation has partnered with Nishtha for the execution of this Mission Education project.
