About the Partner

ASPA (Association for Promoting Social Action) since its very beginning has been involved in building a learning environment for the disadvantaged children in Bangalore. Besides offering educational facility up to 10th standard, it also conducts child enrollment campaign in the community. The organization has a well supported infrastructure. The association supports an average of one fifty students on a yearly basis.

The Project

ASAP aims to transform lives of 150 underprivileged children by providing basic education based on the principles of Right to Information, political and economic empowerment. Also, it has been working hard for the betterment of drop outs by formal and informal education modules, vocational, non formal and bridge course.

Other on going activities

• Namma Mane, a 24 hour home and residential training centre for street and working children, and children in distress providing counseling, health and nutritional care, recreation and life skill training to them.
• Kaushalya, vocational training centre providing training as a strategy against poverty and underpaid child labor.
• Slum outreach project facilitating development programs in Bangalore and Hyderabad.
• Other projects include self-help group project, child labour project, street children and communities’ project, the child helpline and police training project, and the disability project.
