and 94.3 Radio One
celebrate Christmas with Smile

This festive season 94.3 Radio One lit up the lives of the less privileged with their collection drive, 94.3 Radio One Christmas Santa, for Smile Foundation. The station along with the support of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Mid Day and Vijay Sales put together a memorable Christmas for the kids.

The surprise of the evening kick-started when Ajay Devgn arrived at 94.3 Radio One’s studio along with the Toon cast from the movie ‘Toonpur Ka Superr Hero’. The Toonpur Ka Superr Hero indeed brought a smile on the faces of the kids. He also, made their Christmas very special by distributing the gifts that were collected from all the listeners across the city. There was a tattoo artist present there who made artificial tattoos for all the children.

It was very heart-warming to see Ajay Devgn extend his support towards this cause. The Toonpur Ka Superr Hero team surely knew how to bring excitement amongst the kids. The team made the kids feel really special, as Ajay along with the toons distributed gifts to the kids.

 


Arshad Warsi cheers for Smile at the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon'10

Arshad Warsi and his wife Maria Goretti associated with Smile Foundation for the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2010. The event took place on 21st November 2010. The star couple especially came to New Delhi to cheer and support the children of Smile Foundation who were running in the half marathon.

The half marathon was flagged off early in the morning, and both Arshad Warsi and Maria Gorretti proudly wearing Smile Foundation t-shirts, were present to cheer the Intercontinental Hotels Group, the corporate that also ran the half marathon to support Smile Foundation. This was followed by the flag off of the Great Delhi Run. Young students of the Smile Twin e-Learning Programme had participated in this category of the half marathon. The couple cheered the students from Smile Foundation with great enthusiasm. Before the Great Delhi Run was flagged off, Arshad personally met the students from Smile to motivate all of them to finish the 6km run well. The students were very excited to meet the bollywood superstar and were overwhelmed with his gesture of personally coming to motivate them for their challenge.


FMS associates with Smile for Uththan 2010

Faculty of Management Studies. New Delhi, associated with Smile Foundation for Uthathan 2010, the flagship event of FMS's annual fest which aims to contribute to the society in a meaningful manner by addressing various societal issues. For this initiative, the erudite management students leverage their knowledge, skills

and creative methodologies to inculcate learning modules for the deprived sections of the society.

I am Kalam the feature film roduced by Smile Foundation, was floated amongst the participants of the leading MBA institutions like IIM's, FMS, XLRI, SP Jain, SIBM, JBIMS, etc. The teams had to state individually, the social problems depicted in the movie and also providing innovative cost-effective measures to address the issues that loom large in the contemporary period.

While 45 entries from top 15 management colleges of India submitted their entries, 5 of them got shortlisted for the second round. The top two presentations among them were conferred with cash prizes by FMS.

Beauties Become the Change

With festivity in the air and Christmas round the corner 12 beautiful finalists of Pantaloons Femina Miss India South 2011 visited a Mission Education centre of Smile Foundation and participated in Smile’s ‘Be the Change’ campaign.

It was a day full of fun and fiesta, as the girls relived their childhood days playing with children. The beginning of this day was marked by the ladies playing Santa to the kids and showering them with goodies. The girls made the day even more special by singing and dancing for the kids. The ambience was filled with joie de vivre and the children loved every moment of it.

The girls inspired the underprivileged community to dream high, be successful in their lives and make the nation proud. The kids from Smile Foundation gave personalized greeting cards to the finalists. And all of them together released balloons in the air to disseminate Smile Foundation’s important message of Be the Change.

 


Smile Celebrates Christmas
with the cast crew of F.A.L.T.U.

Children from Smile Foundation celebrated the Christmas Eve with the cast and crew of the film F.A.L.T.U.

All the children visited the sets of the film in R.K.Studios. The entire team including Jackky Bahgnani, Puja Gupta, Arshad Warsi, Ritesh Deshmukh, Angad Bedi, director Remo D’Souza and producer Vashu Bhagnani, were present for the celebration. To add to the fun, actor Jackky Bhagnani’s birthday was celebrated during the occasion. The children sang for him and gave him roses as a small birthday present.

The children felt very special as they all were given gifts and the entire crew danced with them on the songs of the movie. All the children were very happy to meet such big stars who they otherwise get to see only on the silver screen. It was a great opportunity for them to spend such quality time with the stars. It is also a great gesture on the part of all the celebs as they helped spreading some smiles and cheer among small children on the eve of Christmas.

Christmas in Ranchi with Big 92.7 FM

Smile Foundation in collaboration with 92.7 Big FM celebrated Christmas in Ranchi. The event took place in the Jaipal Singh Stadium and Smt. Mahua Majhi, the celebrated Hindi novelist from Jharkhand, was the chief guest of the programme.

Smt. Mahua Majhi is a noted Hindi novelist from Jharkhand who has been honored the International Literary Award by the House of Lords, London. At the national level she has been honored for her contribution in her respected field by Madya Pradesh Sahitya Academy and Ujjain Kalidas Academy.

For the event, many youth beneficiaries of Smile were taken to the stadium for a fun time and the Big FM team, the young boys and girls and Smt. Majhi together released a ‘Be the Change’ message with 500 balloons in the air. ‘Be the Change’ is Smile Foundation’s initiative of spreading the message, of participating in bringing the desired change, among the masses. It also aims to promote the culture of 'Giving and sharing' among the privileged mass, inspiring them to 'ACT' and make a difference in the lives of the underprivileged children. It was a privilege for Smile Foundation and all its beneficiaries to be a part of this festivity. It was a very nice gesture on part of the 92.7 Big FM to come forward and celebrate with the beneficiaries of Smile Foundation. They have helped Smile in spreading the message of Right to Education for the underprivileged children and also made an honest appeal to the society to participate in social change.


 


Christmas in Lucknow with
Malini Awasthi

Smile Foundation celebrated the joy of Christmas with Malini Awasthi the illustrious voice in the folk music industry. Malini Awasthi came to the Lucknow centre of Smile Foundation and celebrated the festivities with the children, who were eagerly waiting for her. The kids were enthralled when Malini performed some of her most popular numbers. She was amazed seeing the talent in the kids when they started performing for her and encouraged all of them to pursue their passion seriously. She also counseled the kids on music as a career choice.
Malini Awasthi truly inspired the children to dream high. She felt very happy celebrating the spirits and joy of the festive season with kids. She had a great time and said that she had almost relived her childhood having fun with such talented, enthusiastic and fun loving kids.
