BAE Systems India joins
hands with Smile

BAE Systems India recently partnered with Smile Foundation. This association began with an employee engagement programme of the BAE team at the project centres of Smile’s three main programmes namely Mission Education, Smile Twin e-Learning Programme and Smile on Wheels. The BAE team not only had members from BAE Systems India, but also had members from BAE-HAL and BAE Sigma graduates.

The BAE team visited the project centres of Mission Education, Smile on Wheels and Smile Twin e-Learning Programme in New Delhi and Jaipur. As a part of their engagement programme, the team painted Smile’s Mission Education centre in Alwar. The entire team had great fun doing this activity as they tried making the centre more interesting looking so that the kids have more fun while they learn.

During their visit of the Smile Twin e-Learning centre in Delhi, the team counseled the students for important things like their choice of the industry to work in, and also specific things like ways to prepare an effective and attractive resume and how to prepare oneself for an interview, etc.

The BAE team travelled to Jaipur to visit a project of the Smile on Wheels programme. Mr. Simon, one of the team members of BAE Systems, had divided the entire team into 4 groups that helped in filling the Report & Health Card, gave medicines and interacted with patients. And visited the community inside and interacted with the people there. The team visited two communities that day and interacted with a lot of people.

The entire team highly appreciated Smile’s work. They have committed to write a report basis their experience and observations, which would help towards the continuous improvement of Smile’s development initiatives.

 

Alcoa India spreads smiles


Alcoa India Pvt. Ltd. has entered a partnership with Smile Foundation as a part of their corporate social responsibility.

Alcoa India Private Limited provides support to customers in India for Alcoa's entire offering of high-value, high-quality aluminium products. Alcoa supports its customers with a global sales and support network and a hundred-year reputation for leadership and innovation in aluminium and other products for aerospace, automotive, transportation, industrial, building and consumer markets.

This partnership’s beginning was marked with an employee engagement programme. Volunteers from Alcoa had participated for this engagement activity along with their families.

The engagement programme was organized in a way so that the children of Smile Foundation and the volunteers of Alcoa could actively participate together. A drawing competition was organized for the children and the volunteers had taken the responsibility of supervising and guiding the children.

Numerous games were also played during the engagement programme. Both, the children and the volunteers had a great time together. At the end of the programme, prizes were distributed to all the winners of respective activities and games.

BNY Mellon partners with Smile

Bank of New York Mellon has partnered with Smile Foundation as their CSR initiative. BNY Mellon is a leading asset management and securities services company, uniquely focused to help clients manage and move their financial assets and succeed in the rapidly changing global marketplace. It was established in 2007 from the merger of Mellon Financial Corporation and The Bank of New York Company, Inc.

An employee engagement programme was organized for them at one of the Mission Education projects in Mumbai. Volunteers from BNY Mellon participated in this programme where they interacted with the children and took part in various fun filled activities with them. BNY Mellon volunteers spared no efforts in organizing the event, be it the venue décor, the magic show, the health and yoga session, the tattoo and hair braiding artists the caricature artist and last but not the least the very generous gifts to the children. They were also impressed with the talent the children exhibited and look forward to organizing more such events with Smile Foundation in future.

The programme ended with the prize distribution ceremony for the dance and pot painting competition and a vote of thanks by Smile and BNY Mellon.

 

 

Henkel India steps up for the cause of underprivileged children

Henkel Adhesive Technologies India Private Limited has entered a partnership with Smile Foundation as a part of their corporate social responsibility.

Henkel is the world market leader in adhesives, sealants and surface treatments for consumers, craftsmen and industrial applications. Henkel Adhesive Technologies is a subsidiary of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA, Germany. It has its manufacturing facility in Jejuri, Maharashtra.

For more than 130 years, Henkel has worked toward achieving sustainable development. Through their brands and technologies, they work to meet the needs of people without compromising the development opportunities of future generations.

The beginning of this partnership with Smile Foundation was marked with an employee engagement programme. The engagement programme was organized in a way so that the children of Smile Foundation and the volunteers of Henkel could actively participate together. There was a painting and a dancing competition that was conducted where the volunteers and children together participated as teams. While the children took the lead in performing for the team, the volunteers had taken the responsibility of supervising and guiding their young teammates. Both, the children and the volunteers had a great time together. At the end of the programme, prizes were distributed to all the winners of respective activities and games.
