Smile forges key alliances under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme

The exclusive Smile alliances club is growing ! Several reputed organizations have joined in our efforts to provide a better life to the underprivileged everywhere. Among those who have become our partners in action are:

UPS Foundation: The social welfare arm of the US based global courier major, the UPS Foundation has identified literacy, hunger relief and volunteerism as the focal areas of its activity. Now, along with the Smile Foundation, it has helped establish two 'Twin e-Learning Centres'. These are already providing employment-driven skills to children from underprivileged communities - ranging from computer and English proficiency to such

specialities as Retail Management, Gender Issues, Reproductive Health, Personality Development, Career Counselling and more.

Asset Foundation: The Arizona based organization raises funds to support computer education for sex workers in India. It is, likewise, assisting Smile to set up two 'Twin e-Learning' centres in the Capital.

Education Trust: "All children will learn at high levels when they are taught at high levels"… this is the basic tenet of the Trust's philosophy. Which is why it has found in Smile a keen partner in providing education of a high order to underprivileged young pupils at all levels - from pre-kindergarten through college - thus ensuring that a low income or backward community background remains no hurdle to scholastic achievement.

Population Foundation of India: Established by a group of industrialists led by the legendary JRD Tata, it remains at the forefront of non-Governmental efforts to promote rights-based, gender-sensitive social development in the country - including support for programmes aimed at population stabilization. The PFI has come together with Smile under the project 'Swabhiman'. This unique endeavour seeks to empower adolescent girls and young women with knowledge and life skills on one hand, and provide a range of gender and reproductive health services on the other.

Ankur Club: A social charitable organization comprising ladies from reputed backgrounds, committed to provide support to disadvantaged children, young widows, juvenile delinquents, the aged and the handicapped, it has joined the 'Smile on Wheels' programme for Delhi.

Kolkata Police Social Welfare Society: The social wing of the Kolkata Police has become an active partner in the "Smile on Wheels" project in the metropolis, to provide healthcare facilities to slums and suburbs. It will participate in the programme on a cost sharing basis.
